First day as a royal guard, rather, first night, Platinum Star finished his training and got ready for his shift. He enjoyed sleeping, so staying awake at night would be a challenge. Well, at least he wouldn’t be dealing with tourists every second like some of the morning guards were.

His first week had officially started, and he was half excited and half worried. Who knew what was in store for him for the next 7 days.

Working as a night guard had its perks, such as the desirable quietness of the night. Better yet, no-pony ever came through the Canterlot Archives at night, unless they were supposed to be there. He just wished he could get some more sleep, though.

Unfortunately for Platinum, he’d soon be the rookie every guard was talking about, all thanks to one alicorn. If no-pony saw anything wrong with him to begin with, that is.
