Yes it is though the show never actually went into how long it takes ponies to age (anime sweat drop) if it's human aging it takes them 20 years if it's horse it would take them 4 years trying to logic out their ages is difficult since they don't have cannon ages and going by how they look the mane six from the beginning of season 9 and the mane six at the end of season 9 a massive age gap happened.
But again they never said how long it was or how old they were, they had slight wrinkles and gray hairs implying that they are at minimum 30 and maximum 40 and Equestria girls showed them to be high school age which is minimum 14 and maximum 18.
So the time skip is either 16 years minimum or 22 maximum; (deep breath) so saying all of that the time skip is either 16 to 22 years in the future if we are going with human aging for these ponies which yes is a very massive age gap but if the ponies age like horses it's only been 4 to 5 years, and dragons age like humans and so I'm leaving it ambiguous because I don't want a flame war about if ponies age like horses or humans let's just say there was an age gap and leave it like that.
