My man, I have A LOT of work to do. Managing all of my fics is... let's say time consuming and making me experience stress akin to the stress that characters from Darkest Dungeon get after one of their long expeditions.

I wonder why he doesn't use magic to fix his vocal cords.

Is that possible? another question can he even use magic?

What isn't broken couldn't be fixed.

Those guards are just arrogant and upset that they failed there job and stranger able to do it for them

Not just that, there is another reason. Remember - who are in guards and who is Val? He's considered a magicless lowlife that could be shoved aside just for fun.

I like this alternate-universe here, that's not ruled by some of the main princess characters from the show.

Nice start, and an interesting way of dropping readers into the world you have crafted.

So, Vals is a trader by day while living in the evergreen (interesting version of the Everfree). I can't tell what's gonna happen next, and that's a good thing.

So far so good!

To be honest, I think most of the info here could have been explained in a conversation somehow, or at least in a way that flows...because it was REALLY hard to read most of this chapter (until we got to the conversation between Val and Anna, then it was smooth sailing.)

Still a good chapter, just notes for future times like this

As Anna was now gone - Val could act. He took aim, trying to make out the sillouetes of a foolish intruders. Unsurprisingly to him - a small group of four noks, armed with a small spears made out of wood and a sharpened pieces of bones. Small frames of roughly one metre's high with a pale skin that was covered in mud and blood from their latest feast. Black and red eyes, like pearls on their flat faces, looked around while advancing toward the wooden fence of a farm. Their small hands with three clawed fingers held the crude weapons. Come on, one more step, you bloodthirsty little pests...

This reminded be of the Tusken raiders from Star wars lol

《The thousandth Summer Sun Celebration will be in two days. Beatrix Glowstone will return. Seven girls will venture to the old Castle, deep into the forest to stop her. Make sure she will take at least some kind of a weapon with her into the forest. I will wait for them on the outskirts. Keep your window on the first floor open tomorrow's evening. I'm wishing you and your family luck, Miss Smith. Farewell.》

So, this is this world's version of nightmare moon huh? Cool beans

No problem man, it's a solid story!

Oooo, love a good mystery mixed into a story, especially if done right.

I usually don't read stories like this, but this actually has my attention

I'm already halfway trough the next chapter. Expect it in a couple of days.

"The Evergreen Forest, or as locals called it - 'Everfree' - a place of many dangers. From wild animals to dangerous plants and other inhabitants with questionable desires. Many of the local ponyfolk say that this forest feels unnatural, clouds moving on their own, most of the animals are wild or even rabid and the flora itself are not welcoming to it's guests. But, as dangerous as this place is - there are plentiful herbs and materials that could be sold for a couple of shiny coins. The only question you should ask before entering the Evergreen - 'is it worth your life?'" - (c) from "A complete guide to Equestria's anomalies" by Compass Arrow.

This is nice to know, but what actually happens in this story?

11504080
About the forest itself and what's happening in it.

I thank thee for the new chapter
