Is this a remake??

If you are referring to Rules of engagement then no I do not own that story, I’m merely using the events as inspiration as well as trying to avoid the mistakes it made. Speaking of which is there anything that was wrong with ROE that you’ve noticed, if so what?

11454665
It’s been to long since I read it so I couldn’t really tell you. I think it was more the pacing, but everyone has their preferences. Good luck, and I can’t wait to read!

What's the crossover?

11455648
It’s with Frontlines a book series by Marko Kloos, this story takes place 60 years ish after the end of the most recent book Centres of Gravity.

11455728
You can find the series on Audible if your interested.

11456711
If you have audible credits each of the books should cost about one each.

11456779
Wait if they have seal teams onboard, shouldn’t there also be marines onboard also?

11457600
By the second book (Lines of Departure) of the series the NAC (North American Commonwealth, the nation the protagonist of Frontlines belongs to) had passed the United Service Act which in my mind anyway transformed the Armed Forces into a Defence Corp with a single chain of command and many of the older branches transformed into what I believe are Sub-branches, as a result of this many of the branches had to change their names the NAC Navy became the Fleet, the Territorial Army became Homeworld Defence and the Marines became Spaceborne Infantry.

I know it’s a bit wired but I try to use much of the information from the books as I can to make things both familiar to people who’ve read the books and original so I’m not just copying Marko’s work.

11457712
Ah gotcha. But did you know marines actually call their medics corpsman

11457744
Maybe? I know Corpsman is basically a medic.

11457768
Yeah that’s basically what it is. But it’s the marine corps version of them.

the moment I read the description at the words "against the extraterrestrial threat the Lankies" flash backs brought me back in time when I read for the first time Rules of Engagement more than 4 year's ago.interesting I'll have a read at it

Nice to see someone remembers ROE.

“Because without magic they can’t overcome many of the problems that come with operating an interstellar empire, many of those problems simply can’t be solved with technology alone.” Lamplight answered, her tone carrying an ounce of annoyance due to Bronze using her most hated nickname.

*Laughs in long communication and holograms*

11514879
Yup they are in for a rude awakening.

Smiling with a bit of tear to his eyes Maxson replied “Private Jack Maxson, North American Commonwealth Marine Corps 35th Regiment, 4th Battalion, 3rd Company, 2nd Platoon”

? Wait I’m confused a bit here can you please explain author about when the minutemen got a marine corps?!

But also Oorah devil dogs

11515007
I don’t understand what minutemen?

11515008
Well from fallout 4, just making a joke is all.

11515008
Wait what caliber do the royal guard use exactly?

11515163
They don’t use kinetic weapons like rifles, they use laser weapons like the lasgun from 40K

11515205
Wait the humans or the ponies?

11515546
Oh fuck, but is it going to be exactly like the lasguns aka flashlights or what?

11517182
Fair but the equestrian are going to regret messing with devil dogs

11519137
FOR SURE!! (metaphorically at least)

My man! Keep it up! Loved the ending on this chapter

What will happen next? Will earth and her alliance find out about the imperium?

11595019
Currently Earth is divided between the Pacific Alliance, European Union, African Federation and South American Federation all of which operate under the United Nations Defence Force. So you will be seeing other nations later in the story but for now only the Pacific Alliance will be shown in the next few chapters.

Sorry to say. But this particular story ain't for me.

Not only because I didn't know or haven't read this Frontline Book Series beforehand. So, I don't know what is going on half the time.

But I utterly despise seeing a cliche story where the ponies are grossly OOC, becoming disgusting human slavers of all things

And I this particular story scenario, have the audacity to joined/allied the genocidal aliens in this book series too!?

How the hell are these ponies "peaceful, friendship, and harmony" in this storyline?

These Xenos scum needs the classic pecking order of who truly RULES this galaxy.

But I do miss the Command and Conquer, the Halo Legends, and possibly that Dawn of Command Crossover.

Is what OP Omni God-Emperor Doom said about this story true?

11687124

11687063

Well there’s a clue as to why the ponies are OOC in this chapter and unlike other stories there is an actual reason why the ponies are OOC it would just be spoiling the future

And I this particular story scenario, have the audacity to joined/allied the genocidal aliens in this book series too!?

What do you mean by that?

11687369

However a new threat emerges as Battlegroup Zata discovers that the New Caledonia system is not only occupied by the Lankies but also a race of Anthropomorphic Ponies that have enslaved the Local human population.

Then can you please explain why the Lankies are in the same solar system as the ponies world?

11687404
Well the world the Imperials inhabited used to be run by the NAC before they were forced underground by the Lankies, now I haven’t come up with a definitive reason as to why the Lankies left before the Imperials arrived nor why they haven’t bothered the Equestrians since but my working reason is that because the Lankies are attracted to radio and radar waves they can only really “see” ships or structures that have or produced them, for example a terraformer with has a radio and is sending updates or a ship using its radar.

Because the Equestrians don’t use the same tech as humans and rely on magic the Lankies not only don’t see the ponies but also actively stay away from the magic sources.

Again this is all a WIP so I probably may or may not change this and because there’s little information about the Lankies in the actual source material I don’t feel comfortable writing much information about them other then maybe new Seedships or Lankies

As for that bit in the description I will admit that was from a time where I had thought about having the humans simply being enslaved but I have changed my mind about that, however I don’t know if I can expand on the state of humans in Equestrian space in the main story maybe if I decide to to do some side stories but that’ll probably be until I either get a ways into this story or finish it entirely.

I hope this clears a few things up.
