Looks like a decent start to this story. So, Twilight only did well enough to BARELY get in (on the upside, though, she didn't yet have any major magical accidents). And the one delivering the egg for the test was late.
Now, on to the next chapter.
Definitely a very good job on the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up So, Rarity was able to hatch a Changeling egg (which DEFINITELY requires a rather large amount of passion] after a lot of struggling (though, unlike Twilight in canon, she at least DIDN'T stop until the testers specifically called time) and created a rather massive multi-colored flash with her magic. Also liked how Rarity was reflecting on how she would rather be trying to make costumes for the upcoming school play that auditioning for Celestia's School For Gifted Unicorns.
Of course, one has to wonder what Twilight's surge looked like with nobody around except maybe her parents, Shining and Cadance. And, hopefully, Twilight and Rarity will be able to befriend each other sooner than in canon if Twilight stays around the school long enough to have a real chance of meeting her.

This story is operating on the head canon that Celestia purposely set up the egg test for Twilight, since I personally doubt the school had a large number of dragon eggs. And since the egg was delivered late, it went to the next applicant for the school.

Rarity's still going to retain her interest in fashion, but her overall focus is going to be on magic. In fact, her magic will be more focused on stylish spells like transfiguration and the like as a reflection of her fashion forward awareness.
Yes, Rarity being Celestia's student is a setting i would like to see more of, i personally think Rarity would make a fantastic apprentice . i'll be keeping an eye on this story, i hope you stay interested in doing story.

Again, this was a really good job on the latest chapter. You certainly got this up more quickly than I expected. Anyway, really good job on the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up. Really appreciate the detail of Rarity working so hard to help others that she has fallen behind on her own studies and I also appreciate that she treats HER Spike a lot better than Twilight treated HERS at first.
MOST assuredly looking forward to more of this (especially seeing how Twilight has been doing without the pressure of living up to being Celestia's personal student). And, yeah, I could definitely see Spike developing a crush on Fluttershy.
Anyway, really looking forward to more of this.

Don't worry, Twilight's character will be delved into in later chapters.
Well, once again, you did a rather good job on the chapter, a good mix of the stuff from earlier chapters now combined into a single chapter and additional material. And, yeah, I can understand that "passing mentions only" concerning Nightmare Moon's trials because of the similarities to canon (with the exception of Twilight already having a decent grasp of friendship, but that's going to be explained in a later chapter anyway [and I have a hunch it has something to do with her training including a fair amount on the value of teamwork and her making some logical conclusions]), but don't go TOO similar to canon. Feel free to work in as many differences as you are comfortable with. And I have a hunch Twilight is basically going to be going back to Canterlot JUST long enough to pack some prized belongings and explain things in pony to her family and a few other surprisingly close ponies before making the move/transfer to Ponyville.
But, anyway, certainly looking forward to more of this.

What are you going to do with Rarity episodes?
Hey there. Again, this was an entertaining episode. Certainly appreciated the dialogue, characterizations, general wrap-up and future episode set-up. As was mentioned by other reviewers, appreciated Rarity being firmer than Twilight was in canon concerning the ticket decision. And the alteration that Rarity HAS already been to the Gala several times. And the sixth ticket being for Spike from the upshot as Twilight is still in Canterlot (at least until the next episode).
Anyway, very certainly looking forward to more of this.
0.o with a tittle like that and Rarity have not heard of her.... that seems a little odd, it sounds like a post Twilight would have gotten in Canon if she hadn't become a Alicorn xD

As other people have pointed out the details in character interactions are on point. But I’d advise that in future some stories need to differ. Rarity soloution to a problem should be different than Twilight’s
