If you think you have to withhold information to get anyone to read your story, that should be as big a red flag as anything. Especially considering the kind of stuff that's already on this site. I'm pretty sure more people would skip an M-rated horror story without content warnings than would skip an M-rated horror story with warnings of infanticide, gore, and whatever else is worth warning about here.
