Epilogue

A few weeks later, just before summer break, Flash, having transferred back to CHS, is sitting on a bench on the top of a viewpoint overlooking the city with his father Metal Gleam, who has come to visit for the next month and a half. Flash is unsure if he should ask Twilight to the end of junior year dance, since she broke up with Timber rather recently, or even if he should go to the dance at all. Metal tells his son to not let his unimportant self viewing hold him back, especially after having it proven false. Flash points out that anyone else could have proven Pony Twilight didn't wreck the Fall Formal decorations, and a voice behind them responds that no one else DID. The father and son turn to see Twilight standing behind them, having been told where they were by Comet and Moondancer and rode up on her bike. She asks for a moment with Flash. Metal, instantly understanding, stand up and gives his son a pat on the back. Before walking off to the car, he asks Twilight to not hurt Flash, and she assures him she won't. Twilight sits next to Flash and, having overheard him and his father talking, asks why he doesn't want to go to the dance. Flash responds that it feels weird, with Pony Sunset now gone and the world completely back to normal with all the Equestrian magic gone from the human dimension, including the girls' magic and Spike's speech, to which Twilight agrees. He asks if she misses her, and Twilight says she does, as do the rest of the Rainbooms, but she has lots of great memories to look back on. She mentions that Human Sunset is coming along immensely well in her independent studies, and has reunited with her and Sunburst's parents.

Twilight asks Flash to go with her to the dance, shocking the guitar player. He says that there are plenty of better looking guys in the school, and she responds that she doesn't care. She explains that she has been thinking about he told her his mother had told him about her definition of a "perfect couple", and has realized something: She and Timber have too much in common, so he can't help her be a better person. She understands love much better now than when she first transferred to CHS. She then asks Flash if he would come with her somewhere else instead, confusing him.

The night of the dance, Flash and Comet are about to head out to pick up their dates. Flash is dressed in a blue tuxedo, and consults his family about his appearance. Water Wave and Heat Flame give him thumbs-ups, First Base says he looks like a secret agent (which earns playful eye rolls from everyone), and Metal simply nods and, with a smile, says Flash looks perfect. Comet is dressed in a similar tux to Flash, except his is red. His family approves of it as well. Moondancer and the twins' older sister Coffee Cup, who has come home from college for the summer, are going with the boys to make sure they don't do anything foolish (Comet is annoyed, but understands). Just before the four leave, Metal says Twilight "must be quite something", and Flash responds that she's more than something. She is everything.

After picking up Sunset from Luna and Celestia's house (where she is staying for her independent course), they arrive at Twilight's house, where Flash encounters her parents, Twilight Velvet and Night Light, Principal Cadence of Crystal Prep, and Cadence's fiancé, Twilight's brother Shining Armor, who he finds intimidating. Twilight and Cadence briefly scold Shining before the former heads out. Shining gives two water guns to Moondancer and Coffee, telling them to squirt if they see any kisses.

The group arrives at CHS and they go up to the roof of the school, where they can hear the music below. As the two couples start to dance, the sisters watch them with their water guns. Flash and Twilight get to talking about their past, and Flash makes it clear he likes Twilight for herself, and doesn’t want her to be anyone else. Twilight is touched, and makes her move. She kisses him. Everyone else is stunned, Flash most of all. This earns them a water squirt from the sisters, but the boys look at each other and say “worth it”, making all the girls giggle.

A little later, Twilight and Flash are sitting on a bench across from the school. Flash asks if Twilight really does want to date him, and she responds yes she does. Flash jokily asks if she has figured out that he is a better match for her than Timber, earning him a playful smack on the back of his head. Twilight then apologizes for not realizing it sooner, but Flash simply tells her to not dwell on it, and they share another kiss. Sunset, watching with the rest of the Rainbooms, Derpy, Micro, and the three siblings from 20 feet away, remarks that friendship really IS magic, and Twilight replies that yes it is.

The End

God damn it! That not only sounds awesome, it's something that a lot of people want to see! Why on Earth was that canceled?! ...No, I'm seriously asking you why. Why do you think it got canceled?

This is a basic summary of my imagined take on the cancelled Equestria Girls finale

I hadn't heard of the EQG finale. Were any plot details released?

Maybe they just ran out of time.
Or perhaps they thought the final result would have been too sad for kids (which is a terrible reason).

Thanks for the link. Was the any other intel on this subject?

Sounded awesome though. I always wondered what happened to the human Sunset Shimmer.

As did I and many others.

Hey, could you by any chance use a different cover image? I prefer to have that art exclusive to my story so it doesn't get confused with yours, nor did I give you permission to use it.

Deal.
I sincerely apologize. I did not mean to steal it.

I thought he already went to CHS.

So he doesn’t have to think about his feelings for Twilight.

He briefly transferred in my idea here.

Heartbreaking, though I personally doubt they would've actually had Sunset leave the human world for good and cut off all contact with her human friends if they had gotten Equestria Girls a proper finale. I doubt they'd spend several movies, specials, and shorts focusing on the girls' friendship if Sunset did get permanent separation.

Heck, Forgotten Friendship even has Sunset get her memories of the human world back immediately after they're removed so that does imply to me that they wouldn't go for her cutting contact with the human world. Especially when we have pony Twilight still being in contact with the rest of the Mane 6 even when moving to Canterlot as princess.

Plus the scrapped Sunset is homesick plot for Friendship Games did end with her deciding to stay in the human world so that does support the idea that she'd be in the human world for the rest of her days.

I think even one of the writers mentioned Sunset's true home is the human world, so I'm positive she'd spend the rest of her days there (maybe becomes a teacher at Canterlot High) with occasional visits to Equestria and using the journals to message Twilight and Celestia.

The deleted homesick plot in Friendship Games also ended with Sunset choosing the human world over Equestria.

So yeah, not a fan of having Pony Sunset have to cut ties with the human world after so many movies and shorts worth of exploring her close bond with the Rainbooms. Feels like it goes against her character arc, that's like if Twilight cut off all contact with her friends in the timeskip for Friendship is Magic.

Also not a fan of you demonizing Timber, playing up Timber's worst qualities a lot as you're trying to make Timber look like he's on Zephyr Breeze levels of flirting and making him mean to Flash even though he never shows any sign of that sort of behavior in canon. Sure I don't like Sci-Twi/Timber either, but there's better ways of dealing with this by simply having him and Sci-Twi break up on amiable terms because they find out they lack the romantic spark. There's really no need to demonize him especially since the Sci-Twi/Sunset (which is more popular than Sci-Twi/Flash) stories are surprisingly capable of giving Timber a more respectful send off.

Like, does Zephyr Breeze also deserve to be demonized and then beaten up like you did with Timber considering Zephyr's way more of a creep than him?

Just a nitpick, but I personally prefer Sci-Twi/Sunset over Sci-Twi/Flash. Like come on, you can't tell me Sci-Twi/Sunset isn't a close dynamic after what the show gave us, contributing to why I'm not a fan of Pony Sunset permanently leaving and cutting off contact.

For the record, I haven’t even watched most of the EQG content, so that probably explains why I wrote this the way I did. I admit, I did go kind of overboard.
