nice work!
Let's have a moment of silence for all of those who suffered and died in this war.

Varys! How could you?!
Well at least I have an idea of what antagonist will reappear in a future story or the comic mentioned in the TV Tropes Blog.
He basically caused the second highest amount of suffering after the Burning King himself. While what Penumbra did was 100% badass, what Varys did to him and Moonlight though... Just terrible.
Zeloph's healing might be very powerful, but i don't know how effective it'll be to wounds that have sealed themselves off. So unless his healing can repair torn limbs a few hours after the fact, Moonlight's going to be wingless and Penumbra will be handicapped.
I remember when I asked how extensive Mini Trix's dodging (specifically to mature things) was, and if being pinned would she able to make it disappear or die due to her innocence being lost. Then I wondered if this occurred, would Mini Trix reappear as a teenager (since that's the only Beatrix we never saw). I can only hope that she comes back, otherwise I'll be very sad.
I imagine that Bellatrix probably would've died at that moment if it weren't for her connection with the Manor. Of course, that'll leave her permanently there, otherwise both she, the Manor, and the twins might die. Even if she somehow can heal her heart back, I don't imagine having it squeezed until it bursts was a pleasant experience.
Poor Moonlight! I feel so bad for her! It beats getting the fate of a mare who was unfortunate enough to be caught by the changelings, but it's still terrible. At least she didn't get killed. Perhaps it's possible for them to be healed if Zeloph's magic is that extensive, or maybe she ends up getting some metallic wings like RD, but still nothing would be the same.
Something hit me when I was reading this. Cerise left the Manor as a batpony. And soon after Moonlight left the Manor, she lost her wings. Just wanted to point that fact out.
*Sounds of the Self Blaming and Traumatized Midnight*
If being a Hyper Stallion did not cut half his life, then the amount of stress and what such Midnight had during his life would probably reach the same result. He'll feel so sad that not only Moonlight might be wing crippled, but self blaming because she noticed the missile being aimed at Cerise but not him. He might've been able to intercept it and save both of them. Of course, there's no telling how resistant he would be to the blast. He probably would've fallen to the ground and might've suffered even worse since only Dion would be able to clear the way in an attempt to save him. He could've even died and left both of his wives extremely sad. And thus, it would've been the end of Midnight's entire line.
Even if they tell him this, unless somebody snaps him out of it, he'll probably be in that sorrow filled state. Because who knows. Maybe the opposite is true and with his massive wingspan he might be able to recover long enough to remain airborne and glide to a more safer location. His wings might end up remaining inoperable afterwards, but given how much he cares for others he would've found that worth the trade. And that's assuming Zeloph can't heal a sealed wound. He might be able to heal Midnight since much of the wing would be still around in this scenario, and while he'd feel weakened, he might end up having those lessons with Zeloph to train his wings to be better.
But how can be do that in this world when his own wife can't experience that feeling of freedom ever again?
So this is what was meant by there not being a true happy ending. They won, but at what cost? So many died and there are still threats out there. In a way, they just won themselves another day to fight a different villain, another day to lose more people. Another day to suffer.
But to suffer means they're still alive. So still, they won their lives, though torn and beaten up. They will fight so that the sacrifices of those who no longer suffer won't be in vain. And they'll learn to live with their pain, surpass it, and help those who live but suffer, making sure to keep the peace until their days end.
And thus the next story will be about Beatrix finding a way to stop her magic from warping the timelines. Probably will be another OC Submitted Story, since it's my belief that unless Beatrix directly wishes something (like with Midnight becoming her brother), the special properties of the OCs souls prevents their worlds from being twisted (like how the Paradise World has so many OCs and none of them are connected to Beatrix at all apart from just being there). Their backstories remain intact, even with Beatrix inserting herself into their lives.
Best quote of this chapter?
Hehe. House go brrrrrrrrrrrrr. The calvary has arrived!
Thanos had a similar plan to bring balance to the Universe, which was just as insanely stupid.
So was freeing The Burning King a side effect of reshaping the timeline?
Since this story uses past tense, it should be "waltzed".
So they share a single pair of horns and wings (Like one-winged Demons)?
AVENGERS!!!....... Assemble.
It should be "ignited", the word "being" is missing before "siphoned", and the "l" is missing from "plumes".
If that doesn't prove that water is excellent at absorbing and dispelling heat, then I don't know what is.
The only way I see right now is to somehow starve him of souls, but how is that possible!?
Did you mean "balled"?
I never thought that Bellatrix would want to be the Queen of Hell.🤔
It should be "has".
The problem is that even with a black hole, The Burning King will still be somewhere in the Multiverse, waiting for fate to set him free again.😟
SHouldn't it be "mana"?
I hope there's medication/magic to regenerate flesh here.😰
Are you sure you want to take flesh, emotions, intelligence and sentience away from humans, Varys? Replace them with steel, programming and unquestioning obedience, with no loyalty, doubt or a desire for change!? 2 wrongs don't make a right!!!😡
But Bellatrix can't be dead that easily, right? She's a Demon with a connection to the manor like Shadic Midnight Blitzer mentioned!😥

Did somebody summon me to this plane?
I'm guessing that since Bellatrix is still mentioned in the last bit of the chapter as one of those who suffered some type of major injury, she's still alive. Otherwise, the Manor would probably be dead too since they got united

1. the Burning King didn't build his kingdom on sanity :p
2. Correct
3./6./9./11./13. As always, thanks for the grammar and suggestions!
4. Yes!
5. Quite.
8. Simple! Throw him into a black hole where there's nothing but endless darkness.
10. It was hinted at a little in previous chapters and an outspoken motivation in Bewitching Hour.
12. Even if that's the case, it's unlikely we'll see the Burning King again outside flashbacks or nightmares.
15. Morality is not a big part of Varys' calculations when it comes to making things 'better'.
16. You'll find out in the epilogue later this month

Funny enough, I never considered him for that role. Originally, he was meant for his one story and that was it. But, much like Oona, his concept and design grew on me. So I brought him back here to become Zeloph's arch-nemesis.

Interesting role change then!
So is Varys going to appear in a future story, or in the comic you mentioned in the TV Tropes blog, since that'll be about demi-humans, Zell, Ana?
11151737
Yes
11151758
._.
11151758
Can't wait to see the epilogue tho

In Fire and Shadow, Zeloph tried to tempt Bellatrix with a dream of her ruling as Queen of Hell; presumably he could intuit her hidden desires.
