okay then, better late than never. At least you have more luck than I do.
And I can sympathize with Beatrix, its never easy to be so far away from ones' child
10894136
Not sure what you mean by that, but thanks as always.
10894150
Welk, i also work on a collab, most is worked out but only 3 chapters up, the last one in August last year, as my collab author is slow
10894153
Oof. That's rough. Hopefully, you'll find the proper time and head space to continue.
10894155
i hope so
Well, good luck on your break Nota! I hope things go well with ya!
Alright, so the point that final confrontation ended up being very powerful. Beatrix preferred losing her own identity to the Demiurge rather than letting Zeloph live because of all the pain he caused. Had she gotten her way, I can imagine her killing Shadow and Doppia as she ends up descending into vengeance. But Aba's appearance and the following dialogue caused Beatrix to realize that she was going to commit the same mistake as Zeloph. She had already manipulated Midnight's timeline to have a brother just like how Zeloph screwed over countless lives and the most dangerous prophecy of them all just to be Aba's father. All it took was Beatrix ending his life to not only complete the cycle of her doing the same thing that Zeloph did but perhaps even take away their chance of beating the Burning King.
The last main scene was also very interesting. Sure, Shadow was overcome by her estrus, but it's safe to say that they've both found themselves caring for each other much than they've realized, especially when Zeloph begrudgingly 'allows' Doppia to have his way with him. She could've let Midnight start what he nearly did with her back in the Manor, or he could've jumped at the opportunity of knocking up Cerise, but he did end up finding himself caring about Shadow a lot than he realized eh?
Also poor Cerise! Not only has she lost her body, is going through mental hell thanks to Doppia making her believe that she's useless, but now she runs the risk of getting pregnant in her foe's body after getting raped by Midnight! Midnight will probably be at loss for words when he realized he raped his wife.
And now all of them realized that Doppia is the true main antagonist of them all. If they don't work together she'll be the key to bringing back The Burning King and end them all! But I have to agree, will the group even be functioning enough to pull it off? Like sure, since they're the protagonist they have to win, but at the same time, I feel with all the high stakes and how battered they all are, Doppia's making sure that it doesn't have to be the rule that Beatrix wins.
Who knows, maybe Arc III's ending will have all of them fail and die only for something to happen that brings the final Arc into existence.
10894218
Poor Cerise and Midnight probably have it the worst here! Hopefully they can bounce back stronger...
10894246
Yeah.
Hopefully they can get to that point, because Doppia's doing her best to challenge the 'The Protagonist Always Wins' rule!
10894218
1) Funny enough, Zeloph’s death would have no real consequence in the prophecy seeing as he’s a usurper to Abby’s other parent.
2) You really need to read Fire and Shadow because you do not get Zeloph’s character at all. Even if he didn’t change and stuff with his messiah mindset, he would never sleep with anyone unwilling, be it under influence or body snatched. Sure, he was manipulative and vaporized all that rejected his view, but he still held onto morals that Doppia greatly lacks.
Being with Shadow Scythe has opened his eyes though.
3) Just because they're heroic characters, doesn’t mean they’ll win. That’s an outdated trope and I live to defy it.
10894268
(1) Wow. Like I'm assuming that something terrible happens that requires all of their powers to defeat it, but when you put it like that, ouch for Zeloph.
(2) Yeah I really need to catch up. But yeah, Zeloph has morals that Doppia lacks, and the time he spent with Shadow had helped both to open their eyes a bit.
(3) Yeah. Like as heroes, you'd expect that Beatrix wins at the end, but well the entire series disproves that. The Heroes, though strong and brave, have always been on the backfoot. For example
- Things got so bad in Shining Forces that people were asking if it was even possible for them to bounce back when nearly an entire generation were wiped out during the Campment Raid, and this is just Force 1 where all the other races were considered gone, the Crystal Empire and Equestria no longer existed, and while Necro Twi just lost her Horses of Apocalypse, she still had the upper hand no matter what. Oh and that's not including the many more that died when the Smooze appeared and when the Cult was revived by Foal Bearer and Starlight.
- Depths of the Necronomicon had Beatrix and her team in the risk of getting dominated by Sombra as well as Vamparic Planet where already within the first two chapters Beatrix got captured by Bellatrix (this is where I am)
- Though I haven't read Depths of Oblivion or Fire and Shadow, it's safe to say that all the chaos and destruction brought Cerise's dimension population even lower than Beatrix's!
My point here is that while Beatrix certainly has won in the end, Doppia is going to do her best, maybe even succeed (hopefully not!) in making sure that Beatrix's winning streak runs out just when the multiverse itself is in danger of being burned to dust. And while it'd be sad to see them all go, it is an interesting thing you're saying that you want to change that trope.
And even if they 'win', it wouldn't be a victory. It'd be one that comes with a hefty price, that I am very sure of. If this is the end of Arc II and Cerise has already went to hell and back with all that has happened to her, welp I can only hope that the team can make sure they don't collapse with all the pain they might go through when they reach the end.

You wouldn't mind that if I end up thinking more questions, as long as they're somewhat Lightendark related, that I post them here for you two to see?
10894349
I don't mind, although I may dodge around them if they spoil things!
10894369
alright that's fair.
10894349
Not at all!
10894378
Yay!
It's apparent that Zeloph had forced the prophecy to begin and it was only thanks to Aba's immense power that the universe couldn't undo this choice. So in turn, if the universe had been strong enough to make Zeloph's Wish fail, we wouldn't have Lightendark as we have it now right? not really a question, but more of a statement. I'm happy we have Lightendark, it's very fun and interesting.
Also love the parallel between Beatrix's wish and Zeloph's one. Though on that note, considering that Midnight existed in the Paradise World, then he ends up arriving in the Manor for no explanation, then we have him no longer remembering his past, and remembering the parallels, does that make him a Paradox, Nota? Like he's not the jumbled mess of a paradox Aba is because (a) he already existed while aba wasn't supposed to come until 100 Years later and (b) he's not as important as Aba is so the universe wouldn't really mind him existing just like it didn't mind having the Twilight Paradox from that one episode, but he'd still be a paradox, right?
Because I don't think he was Beatrix's brother during Paradise World right?
Also wait, wait wait wait. Something came up right now. So in an earlier chapter we have Shadow complaining how Beatrix jumps across dimensions and ends up not realizing the damage she caused. Sure she saved the city from the monster, but she didn't stop to save the actual people who were stuck under the buildings, she was worried about going to the next world to find Aba. Midnight in the original timeline lived through the Canterlot Invasion at the age of 12, but to be Shining's son he had to be way younger! Which means that the Changeling Equestrian war didn't happen in Midnight's original timeline! So does that mean that Beatrix unintentionally killed thousands, hundreds of thousands, if not millions due to her wish just like Zeloph did!?
HUH!?

10894401
I can't answer questions about NotaPonyPerson's lore well, but I'll try to explain mine:
Some dimensions are in flux with various possibilities, but once Beatrix arrives she begins to collapse them into a stable form, for better or worse.
In Midnight's case I of course hadn't planned ahead since I wasn't certain I'd reuse him after his debut, but I figure the paradise world drew in people with troubled lives. Some of them may have even died to arrive there but are unaware of that. It's hinted that world is created at the end of Beatrix Belladonna Versus the Vampiric Planet, with the Foal-Bearer and Wet Nurse there who watched over it reincarnations of the ones who died in the Shining's Force series.
(Basically many of my fics have Easter eggs and fun nods to each other, but are left ambiguous so readers who dislike them can ignore them.)
10894416
Basically all dimensions are radioactive and all possibilities act like the dual system that quarks.
10894418
In Beatrix's case, she visited Midnight's world before she met him offscreen and basically caused parts of his history to be overwritten. His timeline attempted to repair itself, leaving gaps and contradictions in his memories, not helped by his trauma as changelings killed most of his world and family. This will be explored a little more in the anthology.
10894424
Huh. I still feel that the wish came after (otherwise why no recognize) but hey at that point Midnight wasn't part of the lore
10894401
1) the Lightendark/Omega Prophecy would have started regardless if Zeloph inserted himself into Abby’s conception or not. Think of it less as a ‘written in stone’ type deal and more of a ‘cosmic plaything’ scenario. Something caused Abadonna to exist long before she was even born, and that has yet to be answered.
2) I’d consider Midnight’s situation more of an anomaly than a paradox. He exists well past his timeline, but that existence isn’t crucial in the grand scheme of things.
3) Possibly. It could also mean that those events stopped existing and never occurred.
10894427
I figure it was a multi step process, as Beatrix's whims helped 'stabilize' his world into its current state.
10894440
Ok... So such story explains Beatrix first stop?
10894446
No, I mean it goes more into detail about Midnight, Moonlight, that version of Shining Armor, and his world. I plan to leave specifics about Beatrix's meddling to reader imagination. My idea was that anyone who had the Prima Materia and traveled through dimensions could make them conform to their wishes to a certain extent, Beatrix having this fate thrust on her by her connection to the Necronomicon.
The Eldritch in The Depths of Oblivion once intended to use her as their 'dark messiah' to travel through and corrupt each universe, or failing that birth a perfect vessel to pass the Demiurge into, but thanks to help from people like Lady Ewe she avoided that fate.
10894434
(1) did the writer of the prophecy knew the risks and thus lied then?
(2) Anomaly sounds nice
(3) Huh. Still it'd be a nice parralle
10894460
maybe the wish is an anomaly? Like maybe the demiruge knew the stuff she'd go through and that she'd want a brother in the future and it made the wish for her before she met Midnight?
10894467
Well, the Demiurge is more of a force of nature, despite what the Eldritch assume it's not necessarily 'evil' but more like an all-consuming entity that can be manipulated in any direction. It lacks consciousness but continues to evolve.
10894469
huh.
well hope I have more questions, thoughts or ideas to bring in the future!
Can Midnight be called an anomaly then?
10894471
Yep, think that role suits him best!
10894472
who knows if that could be of use if things line up correctly.
10894461
1) recall what Iclyn said. How the property written down was lost to translations? No one really knows the full risks or preparations, and those that did couldn’t accurately record it in history
So Zeloph meddled with the Multiverse to have Abby. If he wasn't meant to be her father, then who was??
Well, shit. Cerise succumbed to her emotions once again. When will she learn!?
How would one explain this mess to their bastard child, that their father unwittingly raped their mother through someone else's body!?
Now that psychotic woman is prancing around in Cerise's body. How will they steal it back?😨
Seriously, are you actively trying to make their lives even more difficult!? At this rate, we might as well go for the bad ending.😫
10894622
1) It can be argued that Beatrix has done this plenty of times. Zeloph’s interference happen to have pretty big drawbacks. Still, I wonder who the other parent is
2) To be fair, Doppia has been bullying her, so Cerise surrendering to her insecurities wasn’t solely her undoing.
3) That’s the neat thing! You don’t :)
4) Very carefully
5) I won’t lie, I get a kick in making characters suffer. Shows not every hero is invincible and not every win matters. But there is a good ending to this tale.
10894501
yeah, guess so. well either ways this was a great chapter. hope to see more and comment more
10894472
10894501
Looking at some of MyFairLadyZ said about how Cerise could ever explain to their potential bastard child about what had happened, aint Midnight also a bastard child?
Like Shining was marrying Cadence before the Changeling War and Midnight was born within that time period. Had Flurry been born (which I assume did not happen) that would've made Midnight illegitimate right?
10894968
Yep, Midnight was born out of wedlock and Flurry Heart never happened in his world.
10894980
Where does Aba fall then? She's Beatrix's daughter but at the same time Zeloph and Bea never married and they were never her intended parents to begin with since Zeloph usurped that position.
10894990
She's the biggest anomaly of all!
10895106
In every aspect eh?
10895110
Yep!
10895314
Side note, and I've already told this to Nota, but Oona's cute right? Just look at the cover! Perfection!
10895332
Of course! The gals are all cute in their own ways.
10895339
But Oona takes the top spot. Cute Shep.
10895351
Cerise for me, but I have a bias for pigtails and the color pink!
10895361
Shep.
Can you list the onnmas and what they do?
10939803
I think Shadow Scythe's is called Thanatos and allows her to manipulate/travel through shadows.
10953880
Ok😌
Alright here's the question:
Is it possible that a person, one way or another, can obtain multiple onomas at once
(another alternative question is if there exists an Onoma that could replicate other onomas for a limited time, but that's another can of worms)
Or can different versions of one person have different onomas or is the Onoma set to be the same no matter the alternatives?
10974624
Yes and No.
A person can only possess one Onoma. However, it is possible to obtain another Onoma if the person’s innate nature changes. Zeloph, for example, used to have Aether (enhanced Light magic/summon angels) before recently acquiring Apollo (sun magic)
Onoma’s don’t change based on which dimensions one is in. But people who share an Onoma will have a unique change depending on the person. For example, Sombra’s Onoma, Hades (manifesting hatred into shades/minions) would be far different if, say, Cerise we’re to possess it (likely summoning shades to enhance her trance effect.)
