Great. Someone who can read faster than Twilight. Now that I think about it, Twilight could be a technomancer if she was born and raised in Gerhardt’s universe.

How can he read that fast? I am jealous!
Bah, he definitely still slower than me, the fastest pegasus alive!
... wat, Ya do reading?
What part of this chapter was supposedly boring again?
The highly detailed demon invasion, the less detailed undead invasion or Gerhardt's point of view?
Honestly this is the most exciting exposition chapter I've seen
imma be real i had about 6/10 hopes for this story, but reading through it im certain its going to be much better than that

I had just finished writing about him going to a library and building a fountain pen when I wrote the authors notes. I guess my mind was stuck thinking about that part for some reason, short though it may be.
Your observations on shields and light frequencies are extremely interesting and I can't fault your conclusions in the slightest. That pokes a lot of holes in basically every science fiction movie or show, ever. Well done.
Great chapter, thoroughly enjoyed reading it and I'm looking forward to seeing his and Twilights discussions next chapter. Twilight is a logical enough pony that sheay well come to understand him better than most rather quickly.
Great work, and I'm looking forward to more of this universe!
10190914 There’s a difference between being a fast reader and a fast flyer, RD.
Also, Gerhardt’s mostly human and pony script is surprisingly large.

It's all good just trying to point you to the positives here
Am I the only one that's shocked by the size of the bullet? That's basically a SABOT tank to tank round that's half the size of an A-10 armor piercing round in a rifle that can be fired at mach 9, which might I add is 3 TIMES FASTER THAN THE AVERAGE A-10 AP ROUND!
The only thing I see when I read that is a big ol' gun with war-crimes written all over it because normal SABOT shells can pierce through tanks like the T-90 with ease, they travel at mach 4.5.
That gun is more powerful than an M1A2 Abrams AND an A-10 Warthog and could take down both with some precise aim so can I just ask...
WHAT THE *YAY* KIND OF TECH DO THE OTHER RACES IN THIS FIC HAVE!?
10192334 The other races in the MLP universe or the other races in Gerhardt’s universe? Because the latter’s tech level is pretty close to Warhammer 40K.
10192376
oh that makes sense then, I was talking about the races in Gerhardt’s universe btw.
I'm loving this story and the long detailed chapters! Very enjoyable to read and I can't wait for more. :)

"...in a world where peace is practically nonexistent and war crimes are a completely alien concept..." -- the summary.Lol. In all seriousness though, to actually answer your question, thatreallydepends on the species in question. In the story during the time period in which he was using that weapon, the serpents from the Serpentine Republic were somewhere around modern tech levels but they were really good at alchemy thus they were experts at chemical warfare and could make really strong, if somewhat heavy, alloys and thus really strong armor. Its strength to weightratiois shit compared to normal steel, but itsactualstrength was great for the time! When magically reinforced and given impact dampening enchantments, it could block a few shots from that particular gun. Plus, like many species, they are naturally physically stronger then humans so while the weight of their armor wasdefinitelyan issue for them, it wasn't nearly as large of an issue for them as it would be for humans.Ghouls were and still are in a weird position of being really primitive in terms of actual technology but have really advanced magic that makes them close to on par with the Human Kingdom. Elves are in a similar position as they prefer nature over technology, though they are still significantly more technologically advanced then the Ghouls. Dwarves are sort of the exact opposite. They were and still are just as advanced as the human kingdom but don't like to use magic as they view it as something along the lines of cheating and/or cowardice. They rarely if ever use it, even if they are born with the ability to do so.There are more species with various strengths and weaknesses but you get the general idea. Also, he was using that gun 802 years ago, meaning there has been 802 years worth of technological and magical advancement since he used that particular gun, and that goes for all intelligent species across his entire world that haven't gone extinct yet. Interestingly though, no species has ever actually managed to successfully leave the planet due to intense arcane radiation in space interfering with the systems of any spacecraft they tried to send, forcing them to lose control and crash or explode. I hope that all of this helps shed some light on all of their different tech levels!Edit: I just realized how stupid this explanation is. Please completely disregard almost everything I said here as I no longer consider the majority of this cannon. At the time I wrote this I was just trying to come up with a way to explain that because I may have been slightly underestimating how powerful that gun was when I wrote the chapter. I thought it would take out light armored vehicles and stuff, not full on tanks. Oh well, I'll figure out a better way to work it into the story then this explanation.
The part about there having been 802 years of advancement since that particular time period is still true though.
Either way, thank you for at least pointing this out. I really do appreciate it! Knowing this will actually help me quite a bit in avoiding potential plot holes in the future.
In any case, if anyone was curious about what my writing process is like and was wondering why I usually have to do so many rewrites so often before posting anything, this comment is a perfect example of it. I write something then later I see huge flaws in it or just think the idea in general is dumb and then have to go back and change it. XD
*Sees interesting fanfic*
Hm, seems nice.
*Sees fanfic with technomancer*

Excellent. Mechanica did not waver in his position that violence can be used as a force for good AND that not everyone can be negotiated with (almost as though people can have different abiding principles for which they live their life and will not be swayed from it just because someone asks them too. Who'da thunk it?).

BY THE OMNISSIAH!!! I'M GOING TO NEED A NEW PAIR OF PANTS!!
This encounter is going to end wonderfully... and terribly.
Also on a side-note, I noticed the Gore tag isn't on this story, while Violence may appear enough there's a difference between the two tags. When using the Violence tag, the best descriptions for this tag is when mentioning somebody getting a bloody nose, broken fingers, or stabbed, a Gore tag however would refer to the following if not all - dismemberment, disembowelment, beheading, evisceration, bodily explosions, torn in half, crushed to a pulp, and etc.
I got really confused when I first learned about these tags, but I though you should no the difference and when to use the two is appropriate, so using both tags for this story is an absolute necessity.
