Nicely done, and you're portrayal of the human kingdom was quite adequate, and what's more sets up the potential outcome of, if, Mechanica finds peace and even happiness in Equestria the forest
spritegod has the potential of ripping him back into his original world for a nice double whammy even if the other gods never show any particular care for what was done to the technomancer. However, I feel like the last line might have been improved either by having a specific time in days/minutes or a 'despite the unneeded interruptions' thrown in there given Mechanica's current disposition.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed my portrayal of the human kingdom!
Also, after looking at that last line again, I definitely see your point. Thus I have altered it slightly. Thank you for the constructive criticism! It is much appreciated!
would he voice to the changling that he would have had them sooner but the princess slowed him?
10565910
No, probably not. For one thing they would have to be unconscious for the surgery, for another thing he shot their limbs off so even if they weren't unconscious by the time he got to them they very likely wouldn't want to talk to him so he wouldn't bother trying to talk to them. Also, he would likely view such a thing as petty, similar to how in this chapter he considered taking the augmentation he was working on into the dining room and continuing to work on it there but ultimately decided against it.
Good question though!

you might be able to toss in a bit where he explanes he needid to dig around at after making them as the changlings would have healed a bit in the mean time if you wantid to have him explane what he is doing to the ponys.
Since he is matter of fact with everyone it wouldnt be out of his charicter to talk about something like that if they ask about the augments for the changlings while or after the surgery.
I mostly think it would be funny to see how celestia would react to the info that her dragging him out of the lab could cause problems.
Need more!
I am kinda confused why he is even going along with this so called “Punishment” after all he is not a Equestrian Citizen (unless I missed something) and falls outside of their Laws and Punishments. In fact, he is stateless which puts him in the situation of making his OWN laws to the need of his OWN actions that at best would only run Parallel to equestrian law.
The fact he is making replacement limbs for the Changelings that attacked HIM at all is a curtesy at best.
Honestly, there is nothing stopping him from just packing up and leaving. He has done nothing even close to breaking the law and thus they can do nothing to stop him even IF he was an equestrian citizen.
It makes me wonder how long until they try to force changes on him that he doesn’t want?

He would actually do exactly that if he thought that were an option. However that would mean that he wouldn’t be making the Love Generators for the Changelings, which would ruin the treaty between the Changelings and the Equestrians as the only reason Chrysalis agreed to it in the first place was because Gerhardt said he would build those generators for her hive so they wouldn't starve. He also would be skipping out on replacing those eight changelings limbs which would inevitably infuriate Queen Chrysalis.
So he's concerned that by leaving he would risk making enemies of either Equestria, the Changeling Hive, or both due to not fulfilling his end of the agreement, which is the exact thing he wanted to avoid in the first place as he doesn't want to deal with constantly being hunted. Once he's finished building the Love Generators that might be a different story but for now he's just trying his best to avoid making powerful enemies when he knows he doesn't have to as he knows he is severely outnumbered and doesn't want to risk being imprisoned by the ponies or being killed by the Changelings.
Also, while he may not be an Equestrian Citizen he is still in Equestria and thus still has to abide by their laws while he remains within there borders. He doesn't have any sort of diplomatic immunity, political power, or anything of the sort in Equestria. Especially since his kingdom doesn't even exist in this world.
Also, he would prefer to have a functioning society that he can rely on to buy resources from as mining all of the materials he would need, building his own lab by hand, and then setting up his own infrastructure of golems to automate the process of collecting all of the materials he would need would take a lot of work over a very long period of time. In his mind it is just quicker and more efficient to set up a business and buy everything he needs rather than starting completely from scratch.
Thus considering all of these factors he doesn't really view the punishment as significant enough of a reason to warrant fleeing the country. Not at this particular time at the very least. He would much rather err on the side of caution as he is in an alien world with very few resources and absolutely no chance of reinforcements if he were to anger the wrong person or people at the wrong time.
I feel he will eventually he will become a god after certain events(learning friendship and other things) and beat the hell out of Silvanus. Of course, his world will most likely be destroyed by that point, with Silvanus blaming Gerhardt instead of his own foolish ego.
10566907
I honestly can't say whether you are right or wrong on any of these points without giving out spoilers which I would rather avoid. However, I will say that is a very interesting observation. :)
10566939
But Silvanus will get his ass handed to him at some point right?
10567019
Most likely. Though I cannot say how or by whom, assuming he does.
10566888
I forgot about the generators, THAT I fully agree with even IF they weren’t for the peace treaty!
While I am all for using and abusing a nation for personal gain (more so an Equestria that is F&H to a fanatical degree like this one) there is a line where that becomes Doormat levels.
So long as he doesn’t go over that line, then all the more power to him. But the moment they start trying to change him, either by subterfuge or by force, that’s when he needs to NOPE out.
10567074
goody😁
with how his parents raised him Gerhardt seems to have been perfectly conditioned to be a mechanical being from his youth. I am also curious if the humans from Gerhardt's world managed to make nanomachines cause it would be interesting if the literal forces of true evil opened a way to the mortal wourld only to be swarmed by unthinking microscopic machines that rapidly construct more of themselves and only pull apart creatures that have the particular magic signature that is unique to said evil spit creatures
10569151
Indeed and such conditioning can be extremely difficult to break, especially when it dates back to such a young age. Good observation!
As for the nanobots I would have to say, no. They don't have that particular kind of technology. Or if they do then they sure as hell would never actually use it except in the most extreme of extreme scenarios. I'm talking end of all life as we know it level stuff, where they know they're pretty much screwed either way. Mainly because they would view it as too dangerous to use because if anything went wrong or didn't work correctly then it could very quickly turn into a grey goo scenario which would be extremely bad for obvious reasons. You do not want rogue nanobots devouring your world.
Plus nano-technology on that level would make augmentations work very differently as why would you have anything made of solid metal when your entire body could be a nanobot swarm that could repair itself instantly if it were damaged, could instantly harden to intercept incoming attacks, could morph into any shape they wanted at will, could dissolve your enemies in a matter of seconds just by touching them, and so much more? That would be waaaay too overpowered for my liking. Sorry. :/
Soooo Twi is learning technomagic... sooon...
derpicdn.net/img/2016/2/14/1087971/large.png
God this thing is so childish.
But it started so well, what happened?
Also, when you hammer the actions of your characters to fit the plot you most likely will end up with idiocy.
Wait if this is true... does that make every living thing in Equestria a freaking lich or hollow... dear lord no.
10570218
never in my life have i needed something and never known until i have received it...
Query. Is his brain still organic or is his body entirely mechanical?
10901416
At this stage in the story? His frontal lobe is still organic. The rest of his brain is all machine.
As for human kingdom reaction to Gerthart disappearance.
By the Judgements. That guy can be genius inventor, but damn, in term of long-term planning, he is an utter buffoon. I mean... yeah. What are you, immortal, untouchable, invincible?
10901436
Well, he didn't expect the Human Kingdom to react so poorly to his death or disappearance. He thought they would find a replacement for him if he ever died just as easily as every other high lord. After all, he had no reason to believe anything else. So he couldn’t really plan for something he didn't even know would happen to begin with, could he?
He could've just left, no? Nothing actually is tethering him to Equestria itself.
10948735
Well if he left then he wouldn’t have bothered with building the love generator for the changelings, then he would have to worry about them coming after him. He doesn't want that so he stayed in Equestria. Also it would have been quite a bit harder for him to get the materials he needed on his own as he would assume the ponies, changelings, or whatever other species would control most of the possible mines for any ores or crystals he would need to aquire in order to build his technology. He could have gone off on his own and he would have had he thought it was a viable option, however despite his anger he believed the inconvenience of having to deal with Twilight’s friendship lessons was worth the ease of access to resources and the head start he would get in rebuilding everything he needs.
