This story is a sequel to If Chaos prevails...
Many titles are spoken before the name of Discord, King of Equestria. They are memories of the lands he conquered, of the enemies he slew, and of the many accomplishments of his thousand years of reign. He loves to hear them, one by one, as they manage to inflate his ego every single time. But there is one exception. Every time he hears the words "Saviour of Saddle Arabia", every time the royalty of that country thanks him for his deeds, he cringes. Because he knows very well that it is the only title he doesn't deserve.
This is a story that won't be found in the history books he wrote, or in the classes that are thaught in Equestria. This is a story that not even the resistance, who remembers the true history of Equestria, has ever managed to unravel. This is the story of one the many sins of the lord of Chaos, but also of one of his few regrets.
This story is a prequel to 'If Chaos prevails'. It is not necessary to read it to enjoy this one, and it is not necessary to read this to enjoy 'If Chaos prevails'. I just want to expand a bit the lore of 'If Chaos prevails', to give some more depth to the characters... And ultimately just tell an enjoyable story!

I like this version of cadance better than canon for some reason.
One theory is that I see Cadance and Discord's relationship like that of Princess_celestia and blueblood except he's not being turned into a villian like most fanfics write him instead of trying to give him some depth.

I think that MLP doesn't really touch upon the intricacies of actually becoming a princess, nor the relationship between Celestia and Cadence (When the latter was replaced by Chrysalis, Celestia didn't even realize... How?!). That is definitely something I want to explore a bit more (Only with Discord instead of Celestia).
Writing a Cadence that is a bit more fun-oriented (being educated by Discord) and spoiled (receiving anything she could wish of) while still being "Cadence" is challenging, but I'm really glad you think I'm doing a good job!
P.S. I'm not dead, only a bit overworked. I should be able to finish the next chapter by the end of the week!

Looks like discord while being somewhat crazy is still taking good care of the kingdom. Considering our Celestia often put too much on twilight and her friends and never thought about the consequences. She supposedly in charge but she makes twilight and friends do most of the dirty work.
