Hum, not sure how Dandy would say that Gearing has a real problem or why she is she is tiptowing around the subject with him or at least not confront him about it. I would find it odd that she talks about it so quickly with swift sense she just meet her without taking some time to warm up to her before being comfortable around. I would have guess that Swift would need some convincing to have Dandy around the group even if she is a big support of Gearing , the biggest protection of the stable is the fact that it is still secrete. I am surprised you didn't put a flashback for this chapter, would have thought there is some parallels with current events.

Maybe it'll make a bit more sense with the next chapter. I didn't want to have circular / repetitive conversations needlessly/ without a good reason to do so. But, as Dandy told Swift, Gearing wouldn't talk to her. As in, he was very quiet. And wouldn't even say why he was being quiet. And her talking to Swift about it is definitely one of those "You're friends aren't you? You should help them." Kinda situation. That sort of expectation on Dandy's part also is a bit of a indicator of her own personality.
As for Dandy becoming part of the group, that hasn't been discussed among any of the group. At all. And you're entirely right, 68's existence being a secret is it's biggest advantage for protection. Even if two orgs already know about it. It would require a lot of trust and reasoning for her to be brought in on all of that, and you're train of thought is spot on with that. But it hasn't come up as of yet.
As for flashbacks, this was one of the cases that I felt it more appropriate to have conversations before and after the event that explain more of what's going on, instead of a full blown flashback. In this case, a conversation that was had in the last chapter [Rocky specifically], explaining a bit of what happened here, and one in chapter 59 will shed a bit more light on it as well.
