So remember when I was just suddenly in Equestria? Everything had gone to hell and I died from blood loss like half an hour after I got there? Yeah well, I'm alive again and in a different Equestria... and this one doesn't look too much better...

That was adorable.
To author's note: without this, grimdark is not grimdark but just the Darkness-induced Apathy begging to happen. Noir always worked on sensed of loyalty, passion, betrayal, revenge, grimdark, being subgenre - on guilt and perseverance.
I'm really surprised that the spell didn't do more mental harm than it did. At the very least, the first steps towards trust have been taken, and Purplesmart made me laugh.
Gotta wonder, how much of Protagonist (Forgot his name) is you, Author? It's nice to be real once in awhile.
Great more wait then.
I'm with 9356403, you need to have these moments every now and again for this genre to work and not just become misery porn as the readers become desensitised. The moments of humanity (ponynity? Equestianism?) shining through make the darkness more smothering, and the darkness in turn highlights those brief moments where the light shines through.
Keep up the good work, we eagerly await the next chapter.
New chapter when?
I really love this story, the concept is original, main character is likeable and plot is really interesting. I wish you had more free time to update more often.

Thanks for saying so, and sorry about the long waits. I've kinda been a rut the last few months and I'm trying to pull myself out of it. Unfortunately a few of my stories, including this one, have been suffering slow updates because of it, but yeah, it is about time for another chapter of this story.
I feel your pain. I too, have forgotten to bookmark my page. The price I paid was spending about 15 minutes trying to figure out where I left off in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
