To be honest - ponies don't scare me. I have experienced scary "things" enough that I get that precog feeling of dread before it happens. I guess... I know fear with a capital F. I stare it in the face every day.
One of the many reasons I read MLP: FIM fanfics is that (as I written) is they are not scary (to me). I am the Cowardly Lion and ponies don't cause me to cringe. To the point - this story is starting to scare me. The execution of the story is not the cause. The character's actions and dialog are scaring me.
I feel that dread and I can't look away.
