Something in the dark

Electro Trance, a Colt with a grey body, a spiked electric blue and green mane and silver eyes, walked along the edge of the Everfree forest. The massive forest bordered the Town of Ponyville, and surely countless other towns and villages. It was usually a place that few ponies ever went into: it was a place of mystery and fear. The weather wasn't controlled, strange plants grew there, and all manner of creatures called the forest home.

Electro liked walking just outside the forest. It was as close as he was ever gonna go, and it was kind of fun; it was like walking in front of a sleeping dragon, always the thrill of the idea that something would try and grab him.

As he continued to slowly trot along the forests edge, his attention was caught by a small object glinting in the sun light. He trotted over to find that it was a camera. It was a basic, one person camera, used for filming family gatherings and such. it looked a bit beat up, like it had been dropped.

Electro Trance, looking at the camera, saw that there was a disk inside. His curiosity got the better of him, and he picked it up in his mouth, hurrying home.

Electro Trance entered his house, hurrying past the living room and into his small studio. It was crammed with the PC's and Synthesizers he used to create his music.

He pushed the button on his biggest PC, awakening it with a beep. He popped the disk out of the Camera and carefully slid it into the disk slot on the moniter. After a few seconds, a media player window popped up, and the disk began to reveal its secrets.

As the disk whirled in the reader, the screen came to life, showing the face a colt with a mottled green and brown body, short black mane and copper eyes

"Hey there Everypony," he said in a calm voice. "So, I've recently been hearing all these stories of something terrifying out in the Everfree forest. I mean, I didn't think a lot of it at forest; the first two ponies to say they saw it were Mike and Ike, two of the towns jokers. But soon a lot of other ponies were seeing it as well. I mean, even the mayor has seen it.

"From what I've gathered, they keep seeing a pony, wearing a dark suite, with a pale, featurless head. So I decided, that after all this hype, I'm gonna see what I can find out in the dark forest."

He gave a small smile before the camera shut off.

There was a few seconds pause, but soon the Camera came back on, swaying gently as the colt neared the edge of the Everfree forest, which was lit by an eerie green light of the IR.

"Well, here we are. Jeeze...I'm starting to have second thoughts about this...but here goes nothing.*

The mystery colt pushed into the tree line, the sudden darkness making the camera lag for a second as it focuses in the dark, revealing a small trail.

"Ok...where to look first..." muttered the colt "I think Silver Hollow would be a nice place...I could find it in the dark....which might as well be good, cause this tiny little camera screen isn't a lot of help..."

He started off down the trail. The air was silent, as it usually was, as he continued through the dark woods. Occasionally he would turn the camera side to side, o look at either side of the trail.

"Wow...it's easy to see why ponies say they see a lot of stuff out here...barely any light...no sound...the mind starts trying to make sense of what it's seeing..."

He continues walking, but suddenly there is a faint sound like a snapping twig. He stops, looking off to the right through the thick trees.

"What was that?...I could have sworn that I heard something out there..." he said with a slightly nervous tone in his voice.

The colt scanned the area with the camera, every so often stopping to try and focus on what appears to be a large shadow moving through the trees.

"I guess it was nothing..."

He turned back to head down the trail, and Trance noticed that he was a bit slower than before.

"I'm not sure that I really believe what they say they saw" he said in a whispered voice "....I mean, I trust the mayor, but everypony else-"

He stopped suddenly, turning sharply to the left, looking out over a large patch of ferns. His breathing is a bit heavier and more rushed as he scans the area, a few of the ferns swaying.

"Mother of..." he gasped "I swear I saw something moving out there....Hello? Anypony there??"

He continued to scan the area, frantically trying to control his breathing as he saw a few more ferns move, as if something walked through them.

"Ok...calm down..." he muttered as he turned his attention back to the path and continued, though much slwoler now "it could have been nothing...maybe an owl...could have been anything...Celestia that didn't help...This was a bad idea...I know it...I shouldn't have come here...I shouldn't have-"

The colt gave a small yell as he stopped and turned abruptly, facing behind him. He is gasping in quick, short breathes, again, the shadows seeming to move around him. He scans frantically, terror obvious in his shaking body and voice.

"Hello?" he called out in a meek voice. "Anypony there?? Hello??"

There is a slight sound of somepony behind him. He whirled around again, staring in the direction of his intedned desitnation.

"THIS ISN'T FUNNY...WHO ARE YOU??"

As the colt stands there, a small sounds appears out of the defening silence. The air is filled with the soft sounds of hoof beats, though they sound off in the distance. But they slowly get louder, and are at a slow pace.

"WHO ARE YOU??"

As he stands there shaking, a pair of dark hooves slowly appear out of the darkness. They are followed by a dark body, dark hind legs, a dark neck, and finally, a white, pale, maneless, blank head.

"AHHHHHHHH!!!!"

The camera turns sharply, swaying wildly as the colt ran before falling to the ground, facing down the trail after the colt, seeing his gallop away with all his might, eventually fading from view. The sound of his racing hoof beats fades as well. After a few silent minutes, however, the sound of soft, steady hoof beats returns, and a back hoof lands in front of the camer, and then the screen is filled with nothing but static.

Electro Trance stared in shock at the PC screen, which was still filled with static snow. His heart was racing a mile a minute, his brain trying to make sense of what he had seen.

It made no sense at all...the only thing that did make sense was that the mystery colt had somehow come into contact with some form of Horror.

As Trance sat there, he began to feel that errie feeling that he was being watched. With a small glance to the PC screen on his right, there, he saw the reflection of the room, wall, and window behind him. He gasped; for in the wondow, according to the reflection, was the same, pale, featureless face from the video.

With a yell, he spun around, knocking his stool to the floor. But as he turned to the window, he saw nothing, except the star filled sky. He continued to stare, the only sound that of the static from the video.

Slenderpony, woohoo. Sadly, anyone who doesn't know the game won't get this and give it a dislike. Add a Crossover tag, so it's better visible. Also, you have yome minor vocab and grammar errors. Maybe give it a second look.
