Keep it up mate
The coals would help warm the airship.
A bold move, to be sure.
That was actually well done. ^^
That...
...actually made perfect sense to me.
Huh. Interesting
Though again I'm left wondering how, in a biological matriarchy, with vastly more females than males, how it seems like mares are the only ones being objectified in general society, and somehow second class citizens. It seems like males would be less 'in power' socially and viewed more as trophies from sheer (relative) rarity.
Like they'd be the ones being objectified. To be attained.

And sometimes, they are. It actually goes both ways, but Dim is too sheltered to know that.
Just look how Copperquick is treated by Sapphire Shores.
The deconstruction was insightful and an interesting comparison to be sure. It was also a little bit funny since Dim was thinking heavily about it while receiving some light teasing from his best friend/ romantic interest. It was very good natured, but Dim, being Dim, had a lot stronger feelings about it all. In the moment it doesn't occur to him that Blackbird loves him for all of who he is, and that she isn't going to run off with some other pony for being cutesy or fuzzier. I'm sure that eventually this will be a part of their natural rapport: Blackbird teasing Dim and Dim getting all huffy about it while knowing that she still loves him.

Aye, I recall Copper's run-in now. But, as you said, that's 'sometimes'.
Will we touch on the subject of why that's not 'all the time' in the future? Just from where I'm sitting it seems like everything is set up for males to be the belittled, demeaned, oppressed gender in Equestria yet somehow all most conscientious characters both male and female seem to talk about is how mares are treated poorly by stallions, and how a caring stallion is rare, how mares can't get ahead. Like it's a patriarchal society with an oppression factor when that is definitively proven to not be true.
How this could be the case (if it is, and isn't just a skewed perception shared by more than one unreliable narrator and various other characters speaking with them) is something I definitely would like to see something about sometime.

Crystal Cotillion.
It remains from the old days when birth mortality rates were high and males had better life expectancy.
Really, it goes both directions.

Also, keep in mind, Dim was exploited by a mare. A fact that he is in deep denial over.

Thanks for reminding me Kudz. Difficult to keep all the details on the deck, so to speak.

Aye, I certainly remember that.
I assume like people in the real world, Dim is just being a bit
dimstupid. Not like it's the first time he's been angry over nothing. It's fine but just seems a bit weird in the middle of a story... I assume it's the middle? Either way, still a great story so far.8522048
Let's see if it pays off, Corwyn!

You two...
You did good, because you let it be a stream-of-consciousness underthought that stayed out of the dialogue, and because you deconstructed it in a place meant for deconstruction: Inside Dim Dark's Head.
Rake you over the coals, for what? You did nothing wrong. You did everything great.
Often times people with priviledge don't really understand until they are in the same position, or they hate on others for fear that they will be mistreated as they mistreat others.
