Couldn't fail!!!

T

There's a serious heatwave sweeping Equestria and the patience of the average pony is wearing thin. One unicorn's had been ground to dust long before the weather had even changed and is none too pleased to be called to the castle - and away from his students - to deal with the problem of some bickering mayors. The details of the matter don't do much to change his grumpy opinion, but things get decided and guards are dispatched.

This is the story of two royal guardsmen that weren't supposed to find anything.

I'm really enjoying the way this is written. I mean, you opened up with talk about the weather, cliche opening paragraph #4, and actually made it funny and interesting. (It's a pity it doesn't really make sense, because Equestrian weather is manufactured.) The third person limited POV is very well handled, with unique, motivated characters perceived through the filter of the only sane pony, who isn't. It's engaging, amusing, and everything a description of a meeting between a bunch of mid-level bureaucrats should not be.

It could use a good editor, as could most things in life. There are a few language slips here and there, more usage than grammar. All in all, though, for a random story I clicked on at five in the morning, this is miles above my expectations, and I look forward to seeing where you take it.

Thanks so much for the comment!

The mention of the weather and it being manufactured is valid, but don't worry, there is a reason why it is the way it is. I admit it may have been a misstep to not mention it right at the start, but I do plan on having it be addressed in the next chapter and I hope it makes enough sense to be satisfying and not drag the story down.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm happy I could provide some entertainment so early in the morning! :P
