yeah kind'a depressed now but I must ask how did Spike die exactly?
Cause the show has shown that a dragon tends to take thousand year long naps so in all honesty a dragon should at least live a few thousand years so Spike's life span would easily rival even that of an alicorn.

Yeah, it was confirmed through Word of God back in 2013 that Twilight won't outlive her friends.
And, unless contradicted by current canon (or in cases like Parental Glideance, where the WoG explanation is more depressing than the commonly accepted fanon explanation), I tend to put quite a bit of stock in WoG.
Now, whether this means she's not immortal or the others will become alicorns at some point, I have no idea.
But I'd like to believe it's the latter.
That, combined with the fact that this fic just didn't make me feel anything, is why I won't fave this.
