Well, this was an interesting take. Nothing really new and more or less predictable, but a nice story in itself.
Thank you for that.
How many times are authors going to post horror and thriller in the same vein? IT'S ONE OR THE OTHER. Thrillers keep you on the edge of your seat, where the threat is tangible and ever-present in the character's story. Horror is subtle, elusive fear that there could be something in the closet, but you don't really know for sure... all you've gotta do is open the door. Something being horrifying and thrilling at once is beyond strange. Just look at the sidebar and see how many stories have horror and thriller in 'em. Okay I'll read now.

That's a really good analysis of the two tags, and I've modified the story accordingly.
7590905 Oh shit, thanks. Didn't expect that, you're pretty awesome. Sorry I was such a weirdo hardass about it, though. I really do like your stories and I didn't want anybody else to complain so I said "eh, I'll be that guy".

well someones should be "that one person" and with me ignoring the tags when it comes to certain authors here, it had to be you this time.

You're welcome; if I may ask, though, did you see that Martin had been dead the entire time coming before it came up?

That's quite all right. I figured it was more a frustration with how the tags are used by writers instead of the story itself.

7597944 Does that make me the hero we need, but not the one we deserve?

Kind of. I had the feeling the story would go this way, was certain after the first bits of conversation with Celestia.
Gave it away quite nicely.

The thought did cross my mind that the reveal would throw some readers off, but I figured it would help the story overall. I'm still glad you liked it, though!
clumsy, blunt but effective - neat
I wanna see this continue

I'm afraid this was intended as a one-shot, so I don't have any sequels or followups in mind.
This took some turns I wasn't at all expecting. Interesting read.
