Do keep at it, you're doing better than enough writers on this site to make it worthwhile. :) To offer specific constructive criticism, what this vignette is missing isn't style (it works fine for what it's supposed to do) nor spelling or grammar (you're far ahead of the curve on those, as I'm sure you know) but the resolution. If you're writing something so short, you need a clearer punchline, particularly if you wish it to be a comedy.
That question... doesn't feel like the punchline, so the response to it should, in theory, be one, and to me it feels like it isn't.
