The count seeks revenge.. but doesn't strike me that the Princesses could be his target... but I'm sure Canterlot as plenty of jerk-ass nobles to fit the bill.

Out of curiosity, have you actually read the Count of Monte Cristo (or even seen a film or the full musical), or have you just seen the Ink Potts videos on youtube?

6888096 I have seen them all. I found out that it was a musical, watched a recording of it, bought the music for the musical on itunes, watched both movies (the older one and the 2002 one), read the book along side an audio version. I've even seen half of the anime and seen a Mr. Magoo parody of The Count of Monte Cristo.

Interesting so far. I just hope that it avoids Celestia/the Princesses-are-evil cliche, although the character list give some ideas about you are the Count's targets...
