After Rainbow Dash finishes her favorite book series, "The Adventures of Daring Do," she finds that the ending was precisely the opposite of what she'd hoped for. It described a post-apocalyptic Equestria where Daring had lost and Ahuizotl had won. After speaking to Twilight and the Daring Do fanclub, a chilling conspiracy is brought to her attention. Must Rainbow Dash now assume the role of her favorite hero?

EDIT: ((After doing research, I did find out that there already WAS a list of Daring DO books. It was my former knowledge that there was not, but I'm too far in to go back and correct what is there. Consider this an alternate universe, if you must.))

first!

correction: Make that 'Only'.

Also, I find it rather ammusing that you only spoke of 12 books, where as the number on the shelf was 16. Aside from the apocalyptic ending, the 16 books listed on TV Tropes' Daring Do' page are insightful.

Aside from that[I REALLY like the TV Tropes' ideas], I'd have to say this story seems rather good so far, definitely on my tracking list.

Alright, I'll keep an eye on this.
*Removes eye and places it on webpage*
There, that should do it. Sure wish there was better way of doing this, I can never seem track of more than two stories at a time this way... :rainbowkiss:

559489 I was actually unaware what the number of books on the shelf was :| Looking back, it would've been wise to have taken a closer look at it, but regardless, what's done is done. Glad you liked it! Expect updates soon.559489

Eh, it's all right. You messed up on a lot of spelling and story cannon.

559883 To my knowledge, there were no spelling mistakes, but I'll check through it and clean it up. And to my knowledge, there wasn't really any story canon for Daring Do aside from the fact that the first book was the Sapphire Stone and the second was the Gryphon's Goblet. Am I mistaken?

EDIT: After doing research, I did discover you were right. I did break a lot of the canon already there. However, I was unaware of this canon, so forgive my mistake >_> Consider it an alternate universe, if you must, but I shall not make the same mistake in future story-lines.

559641 Yes, it is a bit hard to take more than two eyes out >_> Glad to see you liked it, though!

559948
Yeah, but oh well. Everyone else thinks it works, so I guess it must just be me.
Keep writing, The story is great!

559959 I will, and thank you for the compliment. :twilightblush:

check that out for what I mean. it's quite interesting how detailed this 'collective canon' plus it's expanded universe is. not to mention some authors here on FimFiction have been at work bringing them to life.

It may not follow the TV tropes canon, but still, it's an interesting and well-written idea[I only factor in spelling and grammar if it's a professional, non-fanfiction work unless said spelling and gramamar are especially atrocious, so by 'well-written' I mean it feels in-character, nice long chapters, interesting enough to continue, minimal mary-sues, and of course, it's not a text wall]

560160 Yes, I feel kind of silly for not checking to see if there was already a list up there. Mistakes, they are so easily made, but as I said above, I won't make a similar one in future story-arcs. Oh well, I have a general plan for how I want the story to go, and it should be pretty good. Long, too.

560214

Good. I like long.

not all in one sitting, mind you, but I really hope this flows nicely.

Who knows? maybe things will work out nicely?

560214

Also, you REALLY aught to read the TV tropes page...

Someone predicted your idea to have Ahuizotl LET Daring Do win the items for his evil plan.....

yeah...

Shocking, innit?

560230 If I don't get some horrific case of writers block, it will flow nicely and at a steady rate. Updates will be long, but not over-excessive. Should be good.

560266 That's an interesting theory >_> Man, I really wish I'd heard of this beforehand...I'd've done pretty well for myself XD

560335

Maybe after this is done you could try a filly version with the 'Young Daring Do' series?:pinkiegasp:

560393 I could, seeing as the more I write this the more I become more connected to Daring Do as a character >_>

560418

Children of Primus

WE NEED TO HAVE A DARING DO/TRANSFORMERS CROSSOVER!

560427 The possibilities are ENDLESS.

the sheer number of ideas given life on that one page are fodder for some BADASS stories.

Also, thanks to the 'Brown Note' trope...I wanna see equestria's version of the King in Yellow...

'The Princess in Pink'.:twistnerd:

560448 Someone needs to do this. Now.:moustache:

560463

I've seen 3 so far of the novels being made. not sure about the rest of the Core 16, let alone the YDD series or expanded universe[Krastos, 'nuff sed.]

560477 YDD hasn't been done? God, it's tempting, but...No, I'll save it for a later date. This shall be done. Daring is an under-appreciated character.

560527

Aye...

Also, the 'Nightmare Moon Trilogy' of the Core 16[Alicorns Shadow, Temple of Nightmare Moon, and Legacy of Nightmare Moon] are...suitably creepy.

one aught not pity the villains.....unless they wind up like Inti.

Also, Shrine of the Silver Money: the 'Ape Gods' are none other than Megan and Danny from the G1 MLP series[where they fought horrifying monsters on a daily basis, only truly losing to The Smooze, which was unstoppable via cleverness and G1 ponies lacked the badassery and powers of G4 ponies.]

Also, Tirak/Tirek.

Possible Ahuizotl representation?????

or is he your story's version of Krastos the Gluemaker?

560567 ...I was never notified of this comment. So, sorry for the late response :pinkiecrazy:

Are they? I did plan on having some chilling things in here.

G1 did have more 'dark' villains, so to speak, and the Ponies were all kind of, y'know, uncool.

Oh, you'll just have to wait and see for the villain :derpytongue2:

OK, juuust curious.
