I guess you could call it World War I. The people of that world would likely call it the Great War. It started in the 1890's, when the Soviet Union (formed much earlier than OTL) invaded Europe. This started a chain of events resulting in the world being divided among six power blocs that have been slugging it out for about fifty years with no end in sight.
