Buried alive. Left to rot. On the edge of his fate the detective is pulled from his coffin. The city that covered him is gone and the detective is worlds away. Magic, friendship, love, harmony, someone still has to put all the pieces together.
I like the fact that you mentioned that the blackberries were tart in Pinkie's dessert, most people have only had the nasty super-overripe store-bought blackberries that are sickeningly sweet and don't taste like blackberries.
Necromancy is about, it seems. Valentino might be vulnerable now. Who could this sorcerer be?'
Finding warmth in the light so far from home, so distantly blurred the lines connecting you all before the coming darkness. Resting and standing strong in the face of nightmares, you must retain the bliss of that very light.
But I told him the same thing, that he was an idiot and that's not what it was about." "What is it about?" asked Celestia, sounding even more enthralled than before. "The truth,"
Twilight seemed insistent on saying that it was my magic now. It wasn't mine, I had no say in this relationship, I was adopted, I hate this family, no one understands me.
I lost it when I read this part. Just the picture it formed right after the adorable scene with Twilight was too much. Hate to say this Valentino, but you're losing a lot of your 'gritty, driven, cigarette smoking, inner-city police detective' street cred with me. Still an awesome OC though; he's easy to relate to.
A little confused I lifted a hand and gave her a little wave. "Yo," I said.
I approve of this gag. It makes me smile.
While I didn't have a clue what she was talking about I saw a more important opportunity to strike back. "Don't be jealous Princess, you are quite the cutie yourself," I said, putting on a sly grin. Princess Celestia's eyes widened at my quick response. "Also, what was that about your sister?"
Dude. You LITTERALLY just crawled out of the grave! Stop digging another one.
The rest of that day was spent being poked and prodded magically by Twilight with little to show for it. Passive seemed to be the word to describe... my ... magic. Twilight seemed insistent on saying that it was my magic now. It wasn't mine, I had no say in this relationship, I was adopted, I hate this family, no one understands me.
I litterally had to stop and laugh for this part. Too good.
That bit with the gryphon had me fully engaged. Very intriguing. Dreading when I hit that hiatus chapter.

I'm loving the humour.
Now when I was about eight years old my parents got me a cat.
I'm also loving the little side-stories. It's kind of funny, the way they're woven into the narrative - it really feels a little like reading a detective story. :) It has that feel to it, and the side-stories are pulled off perfectly to add to the character of the narrative.
Love that pic with his cat. Cute.
seems like there's a necromancer out there. Valentino probably Will have his hands full in the future.
It's amaziiiing. I can't wait for more. He is such an interesting character!
Valentino sulking about being adopted by magic was adorable
Also I love when two characters make the same mistake in the name of being culturally sensitive like with the snuggling.
Hmm, it's time for him to do his thing, and be a detective.
Am I the only one who reads Valentino's dialogue in Max Payne's voice?
5278627 Oddly enough, no.

Actually, since I had just watched Blade Runner, he was sounding like Harrison Ford to me.
I like the fact that you mentioned that the blackberries were tart in Pinkie's dessert, most people have only had the nasty super-overripe store-bought blackberries that are sickeningly sweet and don't taste like blackberries.
This was... interesting. I certainly wasn't expecting for a dead body being controlled by something to show up. Then again, who was really?
I found the part of the picture with the cat on his head funny, don't know why.
Well..... this could be interesting.
Reminds of that black alien possesing sludge from the X-files, what with the black eyes and all. The other part of me wants to say it's the smooze.

I like the main picture, he looks like Murdok from the gorillaz.
Gah. I hate when I get into a good story and suddenly I run out of chapters. Please please PLEAAAAAASE update.
I know you just added this chapter yesterday but I'm really getting into this story...
The snooze, zombification, or some other thing I just forgot, the important question is, where did the substance come from?
5284461 oooooohhhhhhhhh
Well that came outta nowhere
5281889 heh, he does!

I was thinking exactly the same thing!
5381600 Odd. I always imagined him as a thinner Sebastian Castellanos.

Personally, I say he's a spitting image of John Constantine.

Except maybe dark hair, since he's at least a little Italian.

Chasing the truth, but ignoring magic. Controversial
The guards had just had their necks broken. They are still alive, celestia is strong enough to heal them.
