The writing isn't that bad, but you most likely getting downvotes because of the plot. People take this kind of thing VERY seriously and I can understand why. Besides that, Applejack seams a bit mean, I would think the Mane Six would try to be his friends after the whole Tirek thing. Also, I found Discord a bit to creepy and serious in all of this.
Poor Applejack.
