This should be Alternative Universe. I say this because looking at this, it seems like they were friends already from the start in High School, even though in the show they were never friends at all until the Season 1 two-parter.
Now, I haven't looked in the story itself, but if what the above is true, then you should add the AU tag.
Is this ponies, anthro, or humans? The description says ponies, the picture shows anthros, and the tag says humans.
