Well, I'm a fiend. What's more to say?

Not all of us are meant to write. Especially when those stories come true. Join the author of this one he as he discovers the pains and joys of creating his own adventure. What he decides to write about changes his life completely. How will the outcome of his story affect the world? Simply put, it'll never be the same again.

Ohai Lyra! Now it's my turn to write about an eerie mist entering a moody kids room and see where things go.:pinkiehappy:

Hmm, well this is a bit different than the usual. If Lyra's been here 103 times, then everypony else must be getting yanked all over the place. You sure there is room in that bed for him too? You did say it was tiny. Guess he better start writing, will she insult him about the quality of his writing?

it had that first fic smell. i dont feel like nit picking tonight, maybe i will tomorrow, but to the normal Mary sue it's a good story.

It is an interesting idea. I for sure want to find out more.

This makes me want to write...

I have the worst love/hate relationship with you writers.

Dude this was pretty good.
Keep it up

Interesting...

I'm going to have to call bull puckey on the reader/writer dichotomy. Avid reading is pretty much a prerequisite to writing. Diction, technique, style, all the myriad ways to play with the English language aren't abilities some lucky few are miraculously born with. They're learned, generally by seeing them in use. Yes, there is some element of natural talent, only a fool would deny that, but that doesn't mean that there's some magic "writer gene". Certainly not one that mutually exclusive to an equally mythical "reader gene." The two do more than go hand in hand, they go hand on arm. Someone who tries to write without reading might as well have a hand directly attached to his or her shoulder.

Okay, rant over. What did I think of the story? Certainly an interesting experiment in metafiction. Lyra's blasé attitude towards the phenomenon is actually quite funny, though I suppose that anypony would be pretty jaded on her 104th human. I hope you do a bit more exploration into this. Does the principle apply to all characters of Pony on Earth stories, or just Ms. Heartstrings? If the latter, why her? Can it be reversed, using Human in Equestria stories as a gateway thereto? How many ponies are aware of this? How many humans? Are there any unusual interactions between the two worlds? (Does time pass differently between them? Are there limits to magic on Earth? Are there dangers in spending too long in a universe not your own?) What do the Princesses think of this? Especially Luna, I can't imagine she'd be at all pleased with such a sinister-seeming development...

So, yeah, aside from disagreeing with your introductory fauxlosophy, I'm clearly very intrigued. :twilightsheepish: Despite my rant, I look forward to more!

450043 Well, that's exactly where I'm going with my strory! I have idea or plan of what to do next, and like the author in this story, I'm just deciding to go with the flow. It's quite interesting, you should try it.

450399 Aha, that's to be revealed in the future. With the bed, I think there would be enough room. The ponies are quite small in reality, even if it would a bit of a squish. Anyway, it cultivates the friendship between them. Good question. :scootangel: And yes, she will.

450410 I'm a Mary Sue kinda person. :trixieshiftright: Feel free to nitpick through it though, I'll be happy to correct some mistakes.

450937 Ah, but you have to remember that the character's opinions don't necessarily relate to my own. While I believe in all of your points with the skills taken by reading, my character doesn't have to. In the future, you will see as he develops his own understanding and opinions in establishing writing skills. The whole point is that the author will eventually learn from his own adventure which corresponds with new opinions in a literal sense. That might not make a lot of sense in the way I described it, because I'm pretty tired at the moment. At least I understand it in my own deluded mind. :twilightsheepish:

As for the story, I think you're delving into subjects you shouldn't. Without giving much away, that will all be revealed in the near future. Literally, it'll look like I'm copying your points. Well, most of them anyway. I can't exactly say which ones, but there you are...

Updates will be anywhere between a couple of days and a fortnight, because I usually have to spend ages editing and exploring the realms of procrastination. Thank you for your comment though.. :yay:

452212 Sorry. Forgot that a first-person narrative doesn't necessarily imply that the narrator's views don't reflect the author's. :twilightblush:

As for the points, well, what can I say? I'm a fanfiction writer. If I wasn't peeking into every interesting crevice of ambiguity presented to me, I wouldn't be doing my job. For a given definition of "job".

Not bad, very simple and somewhat predictable, but very cute and it made me oh-so jelly. Nice job, you may have my thumb.
