This story takes place sometime after season 3 it details Cadence's life as ruler of the crystal empire, her struggles to keep her kingdom a beacon of peace and harmony. King Sombra attempts to overthrow Cadence and retake the crystal empire. His attempts shake Cadence, shining armor and Equestria to it's core. Will Cadence be able to maintain the peace and harmony of her kingdom as King Sombra wreaks havoc on everything she holds dear, including the life of her and Shining's unborn child?
