Another great chapter. I'm loving where this story is going.You can never have to much characterization, even if it may seem like things are moving as a snails pace. After all theres a reason why Lord of the rings and the song of ice and fire books are so popular. Its all about pacing, and fleshing out the details and I am glad to see that coming across very well.

That ending was hilarious, although I am a bit disappointed that Luna was so forwards with him. That could have been an adorable start to a beautiful new friendship, but Luna had to go and make it awkward.

More expansion on the ending scene needed. More super cuddle bunch.

When I started reading this fic, I didn't think that Flash Sentry would end up being my favorite character, but... he is literally the perfect straight man to Ares and the two play off of each so well in this story as friends and comic relief. As for the human: Ares, while he comes off as a little abrasive, he feels like an actual character with personality flaws and his sometimes charming and charismatic behavior, certainly leagues above some of the poorly written HiE OC's that kiss everyone's ass or react like violent sociopaths.

As for the fic itself? It's fucking hilarious and the pacing for the ship between Candance and Ares is very good and it's doesn't instantly boil down to:

HiE "I'm stealin' yur gurl."

Candance "Ooh take me you hairless monkey man Playmare model. See you in hell Shining, Oh and your d*** is tiny, peace out."

Shining Armor "Whaa?" Then he goes and cries and nails a 15 year old waitress at the Crystal Empire equivalent of a Waffle House. Though another idea would be that he shows up at Queen Chrysalis's castle in the Badlands and knocks on her door. "Yeah, turns out I got divorced. Mind if I stay here for a couple of days?"

Chrysalis "Oh my poor baby! Of course you can stay here. I'm sure our 320 hatchlings would love to finally meet their father."

Shining passes out and is dragged through the doorway.

You know what would be funny ?
That Shining ends up in a love-hate relationship with Ares (Because he is gay , obviouslly).

This is an insanely awesome story, quickly becoming my favorite HiE.

There are a ton of tiny grammar and punctuation errors though. A proofreader would be able to put a lot of polish on this.

3570436 It's a comedic story. The whole time it was dripping with slapstick comedy.

“Faster, faster, for Christ sakes, Flash, she’s gonna get us!” Ares yelled at the stallion behind him, who was trying to put as much distance between them and the crazy purple unicorn that was about ten steps away, trying to catch her prey for unspeakable science-y/naked things.
“I’mtryingbutshe’scheating!” The stallion answered as quickly as he could, dodging Twilight as she teleported right in front of them.

There wasn't any peril in this at all. We knew it was in the castle, the entire story is a giant comedy plus we left a scene not too long ago where Luna and Celly were looking at porn.
