EDIT: People are still tracking this, so I've decided I'm just going to point it out. This is cancelled. Sorry. I am not writing anything more in this vein. My blog has a little bit of what was intended, though.
Take Fallout. Extrapolate, instead, from modern day, rather than the 1950's. Extrapolate using 'hard' sci-fi as opposed to 'soft' sci-fi (Hard explains the science and is somewhat more realistic, soft says 'because science.'). Take an engineer from this world of hydrogen bombs, apocalypse, superbacteria and quantum entanglement, throw him in a hazard suit and then chuck the package into Equestria. That's about the plot of this. I'll run through the episodes with him added and my own adjustments to the personalities of the main cast (not all that much, but stuff like Lesson Zero and the book episode just seem to break suspension of disbelief for me). I had an urge to write something using this post-apocalyptic world I created, and this was the only good story site I knew, so I threw in some ponies. Or rather, threw it into a vat of ponies. I'm new to stories here, but I think I have the tags down. Tell me if I've made some mistake.
DISCONTINUED on account of my soul going on strike because of this. I'll write down some of Green's adventures in his homeworld on another site, and I'll post the link on my blog later.

Tictac, I wasn't saying you downvoted the story. I was talking to everyone. If you don't like it, I'd like to know why. Again, how authors get better. I feel I should explain the unicorn/blood/immortality link, though. In some mythologies, unicorn's blood grants immortality. I'm honestly surprised more people haven't made use of that. Sorry I didn't post this earlier, when I got done and booted up Firefox to upload it, my ISP suddenly cut off my internet for the whole house. It was totally wonderful, but I'm at another house right now. Fingers crossed it's fixed by Monday.

So I'm conceiving it more or less as 'enemy of my enemy is my friend,' as well as the fact ponies are REALLY trusting by nature. Mostly their world is a land of innocence and virtue, so often deception doesn't even register. And yes, I do know that it's rushed. This entire story has been rushed so far. I want to get to the meat of the story, but there's all the fluff. Occasionally, when creating a setting, the fluff makes it AND is fun. In a story, it just makes it. Also this is literally my first work of fiction that's not a school assignment, so I don't really know how to throttle it down realistically and still get what I want done, done. I pretty much threw some ideas in a blender and posted the results. I tend not to dance around the point in a lot of things, so I'm not very good at doing so in any location, including writing. Also, as evidenced by this point, my thoughts are not always coherent.
