Writer, philosopher, gamer, and suprisingly, not a brony. Don't like the series enough for that, but I have found some stories here that make me chuckle or otherwise be amused.

“Of all the things which wisdom provides to make life entirely happy, much the greatest is the possession of friendship." - Epicurus

Michael Smith, a distant descendant of the Gods of Olympus, has been banished to Hades for a dishonorable death, or, at least, that's the official word. He is, however, not too pleased with this turn of events. He fights to change his situation, fights to train, fights to escape Hades. Eventually, he rekindles powers unseen in years, and uses them to escape Hades.

Equestria, however, is an unsuspecting country on an unsuspecting planet, war and murder nearly unheard of among the country's residents. They rarely have disappearances, and those that do disappear are found in short order, they never have monster attacks or animal maulings or nearly anything supernatural. They go about their daily lives never having to worry about these evils, as Cerberus guards them very well. So well, in fact, that many of them have forgotten that there were ever things that went bump in the night, so to speak. Little do they know that one of those things is escaping Hades, never to return.

Whelp, once more into the breach with a story. I'd actually like to continue the other one still, but there seem to be a grand total of like 6 people interested or something. Fun story to write, it's just I've seen in-jokes with bigger audiences. I'll probably toggle between this and AToSaS, though that doesn't necessarily mean a chapter for one, a chapter for the other and repeat. Here's to hope, that most glorious of refreshments.

By the way, this is only my third posted story. Anything you deem a problem, I will at least hear out, if not make an attempt to change. I'll be most glad for any advice, and I won't ask you to sugarcoat it.

Doctor Tangled Web is a brilliant arcanist. It's just too bad he's so bored.

One day, he creates a spell for dimensional viewing. He searches through dimensions until he finds an interesting one, a steampunk fantasy dystopia (that is not Dishonored). Later, he decides that simply watching the guardsmen and their adventures is not enough.

He's swapping places with one of them. So Doctor Tangled Web, a Canterlot native who moved out, becomes a Senior Materium Defender of London, and must evade detection as long as possible, all while having an enjoyable vacation and climbing the ranks of the esteemed Defenders, the law enforcement of modern Earth.

By contrast, Senior Materium Defender Phillip Johnson finds himself stranded in a colorful land of ponies and friendship, with no oppressive government, no murder investigations and no aetheric amenities. Luckily, Doctor Tangled Web left an extensive library behind, all of which focuses on Phillip Johnson's acclimation while the good doctor is away on vacation. He's got some reading to do, to say the least.

Yeah, so it's been a year and, in my various misadventures in life, I decided I actually want to create something. I've been assembling bits and pieces of this for some time with the goal of a story in mind, but it wasn't until recently that everything came together just so for this idea to work. I've got someone to prod me if I stop working, someone to edit and somebody to check those pesky facts, though if them or I miss something please tell us. I'll tag stuff as it becomes relevant. Arcanist essentially translates to magical scientists, like Starswirl the Bearded. I actually could not find (and neither could my team) the word for this in My Little Pony, and they seem to think 'arcanist' works fine.

EDIT: People are still tracking this, so I've decided I'm just going to point it out. This is cancelled. Sorry. I am not writing anything more in this vein. My blog has a little bit of what was intended, though.

Take Fallout. Extrapolate, instead, from modern day, rather than the 1950's. Extrapolate using 'hard' sci-fi as opposed to 'soft' sci-fi (Hard explains the science and is somewhat more realistic, soft says 'because science.'). Take an engineer from this world of hydrogen bombs, apocalypse, superbacteria and quantum entanglement, throw him in a hazard suit and then chuck the package into Equestria. That's about the plot of this. I'll run through the episodes with him added and my own adjustments to the personalities of the main cast (not all that much, but stuff like Lesson Zero and the book episode just seem to break suspension of disbelief for me). I had an urge to write something using this post-apocalyptic world I created, and this was the only good story site I knew, so I threw in some ponies. Or rather, threw it into a vat of ponies. I'm new to stories here, but I think I have the tags down. Tell me if I've made some mistake.

DISCONTINUED on account of my soul going on strike because of this. I'll write down some of Green's adventures in his homeworld on another site, and I'll post the link on my blog later.
