Flimsly, yes. Potiential, yes.

If you want to make a back story for Blueblood then I say go for it. Just take your time and develop things... make us care that life as a celebrity isn't what Blueblood wanted and it left him worse for wear.

To get an idea of how this could work I recommend reading "Puppet to Her Fame" by Kaidan. Great stuff there.

Interesting. I tend to like Blueblood stories that explain his attitude.

Well, thanks, definitely going to read it.
And the time, yeah, I really dropped the ball there.

Well yes and no. The idea for this story was a simple walk through of Blueblood's thoughts over the course of a single evening. What you did was introduce thoughts and ideas, backstories, that you simply didn't have enough time to develop. It's obvious that you did a little thinking about Blueblood's childhood. Now... take those ideas and grow them into a grand garden worthy of the Gala.

:facehoof: Jeezz... sorry about all of that. I uh... don't know what came over me. :twilightblush:
Still though, you should write this out, ok? :pinkiehappy:

God reasoning on his part, but..his trauma and upbringing left no room for the fact that not all ponies are trying to take advantage of him. He was right about Rarity's all too common "Prince Charming" syndrome, but not the best way to go about it. He could have simply let her have a nice evening and then.....said goodbye. He knows he's famous, all he has to do is make it clear that he's is not looking for a lover and then it's not his problem. Rarity might have been looking for Prince Charming but she still had her manners, so she would have left it at that.
It's also notable that he doesn't recognize Twilight as the one "trying to impress the Princess".

He's become so wrapped in his own hurt, that he doesn't even notice or care about the other ponies in his life. He doesn't care that Celestia was dealing with a dragon, a child mage who turned her parents into plants, a new student, and what it all meant. He has become self-centered. For good reason, but still self-centered.
