Noble Cause

she/her they/them, reader more than writer these days.

It's frustrating when you realize that your specialty lies in only one specific area. More so when you can't admit it to yourself. Sometimes, you just need the perspective of your two best friends to figure it out.

Written for the June Pre-Reader promptfic challenge.

The prompt here was "She's not really as good of a cook as she thinks she is."

I can believe that. I have similar troubles with my fics.

I don't get no cookies.

But you get one for writing something nice. ;_; NTS's fic has traumatized me.

I love the casual insertion of a very unconventional relationship into this story. I was definitely not expecting that from the description or the prompt. But it was done well, i.e. not as an attempt at being edgy or as a quick path to cheap drama, but as a normal part of life. Do you think you'd ever expand this fic? I'd be really interested to see more of their lives.

I wonder what it says about me that it didn't even strike me as unconventional until I re-read it? :rainbowlaugh:

That you're very open-minded and awesome, obviously. :rainbowkiss:

Nice slice of life here. A couple lines of dialog are missing punctuation marks before you close the quotes, but no technical problems otherwise that I can see. Thanks for sharing, :)
