On the topic of Original Fiction · 11:43pm Jan 24th, 2018

Should I try writing it? The last time I tried writing entirely original fiction was before I even started writing fanfics. I originally started publishing fics here for practice when the time came around for trying again.

Now, with how well Pony-Me has been doing, I've been feeling pretty confident that I could type out a decent original fic based on the same premise.

Should I try again after failing years ago?

Progress update for the Pony-Me Original Fiction adaptation · 7:24am Jun 8th, 2018

I've long-since passed the character names barrier, and I've now officially begun transcribing Chapter 1, or "Wake Up." into the new story's original take. Many of the same plot elements and scenes remain the same for now, with wordings and references to MLP removed and/or modified.

In other words, I'm basically writing the same story from the ground up, except without MLP.

Oh boy, trying to handle the Pinkie Pie/Samantha subplot's gonna be a doozy of a workload when I get to it.

🤔🤔🤔 · 2:44am Aug 27th, 2019

Really haven't been all that active on here lately, have I? One round of updates that never even hit Worlds Reset, and suddenly I'm off again after publishing a 250 follower special.

What I'm saying is, don't mind me while I adapt Pony-Me to original fiction. Working on the 3rd chapter as of today. :raritywink:

History, in any world, is shaped by those precious few bearing great influence, be it from wealth, charisma, or strength. But not all those with such power ever expected to wield any, much less a kind which could be described as magic.

I finished my book! · 6:31pm Aug 11th, 2019

Well, after literally more than half of my life, here it is.

Destinies Beyond the Mythos. My book.

The publishing process has been incredibly difficult, a constant slog of work to make a product that was worth the attention of other people, and it's finally done. On the non pony side this means that I'm going to spend the next few weeks crying in a corner as no copies sell. On the pony side, more fanfic probably!

Important Thought Prism News Bulletin · 10:46pm Mar 15th, 2019

So, I’m just gonna cut right to the chase. I’m probably not going to be writing anything new on Fimfic for a while, unless the next season provides me with an interesting idea for a one-shot. The main reason for this is that I’m trying my hand at original fiction again, and I’ve let myself be distracted for long enough. Right now, I’m four chapters in, with way more to go. To give you an idea of the scope of this project, my outline/notesheet is a ten-page document, single spaced.

A Shameless Plug for my New Novel · 4:47pm Feb 5th, 2016

Hi, everypony! So, a few days ago, I finally finished my second novel, Mektar: Reflection, and it's now available for your reading pleasure (or displeasure, but hopefully not). In terms of genre, Mektar is a science fiction thriller with a minor romantic subplot, and is over 150,000 words in length. Also notable is the fact that there are two

Coming up soon: Posting the story that started it all. · 12:00am Sep 2nd, 2019

So.

I mentioned before that I really only originally came to the site to practice writing because my original story at the time (that I then considered to be the best thing ever™) was feeling a little lackluster.

Thing is, nobody, save for a few close friends and family, has ever seen this thing. The first story I posted was supposedly a crossover between MLP and this original story, but for the most part, nearly everything save for the characters were changed.

That drone strike in Afghanistan... · 5:14pm Sep 26th, 2021

After the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and in particular after the drone strike that killed an aid worker and several family members, a few people reached out to ask about I story I wrote several years ago for the Writeoff original fiction contest. It was, in fact, the first original fiction piece I'd written in years, and it dealt with the (fictional) aftermath of drone strike that went wrong. I had removed it from the Writeoff site, but since enough people have inquired about it, I've decided

About Posting Original Fiction. · 6:28am Dec 13th, 2018

I was wondering if anyone knew of any great sites to post original fiction, chapter by chapter? I know about Fiction Press. So far my idea is to read a chapter on my youtube channel and then post a link to it somehwere, google drive?

Any ideas?

Hit that sweet 45678 words in the original fiction adaptation. :raritywink:
There's really not much left of the story to write at this point, to be honest. This is one of the final chapters, and though it's only really long enough to be considered a novella/light novel, I'm perfectly fine with that.
