So, I’m just gonna cut right to the chase. I’m probably not going to be writing anything new on Fimfic for a while, unless the next season provides me with an interesting idea for a one-shot. The main reason for this is that I’m trying my hand at original fiction again, and I’ve let myself be distracted for long enough. Right now, I’m four chapters in, with way more to go. To give you an idea of the scope of this project, my outline/notesheet is a ten-page document, single spaced. This novel, a fantasy epic with multiple protagonists and a unique magic system, is the culmination of my writing experiences thus far. I’m channeling all of my successes and all of my failures into its construction, including my screenplay, which was a bust. (Dialogue was never my strength to begin with, it was too short, and in the wrong genre.)
Along with being an update for you guys, I’m posting this blog now to solidify the commitment in my own head, so that I won’t succumb and get into any new games or the like. I’m also waiting on a few outstanding job leads, and if one of them goes through, I’ll have less than half the time to devote to hobbies. Don’t worry, I’m still not planning on leaving this community. Even if G5 winds up being mediocre. And hey, anyone else here sticking around might get to see my book wind up on store shelves!
