A Shameless Plug for my New Novel · 4:47pm Feb 5th, 2016
Hi, everypony! So, a few days ago, I finally finished my second novel, Mektar: Reflection, and it's now available for your reading pleasure (or displeasure, but hopefully not). In terms of genre, Mektar is a science fiction thriller with a minor romantic subplot, and is over 150,000 words in length. Also notable is the fact that there are two protagonists, with each getting half of the story to tell. Here's the full description:
The Earth is at a crossroads.
Adrian Miller, one-time ruler of the modern world, reviled by many, is presumed dead. But in truth, he is quite lost, trapped on an alien world. Now finding himself with a second chance, he takes the opportunity to try and reconcile with his past, build a new future. But it soon becomes apparent that far more than his conscience is at stake if he can't.
Henry Forman, beloved hero and brilliant physicist, has his new life with the woman he loves ripped swiftly out from under him before it begins. A crisis of unprecedented scale emerges. He must rise to face this challenge, as there aren't many others who will. And yet, he doubts that he can do enough to make a difference this time.
Both must race against the clock if they are to rediscover who they really are, and save all of humanity from a terrible fate. Destiny may have stitched their lives in place, but strings can sometimes unravel.
Now, this is actually a sequel to my previous work, Mektar: Clash of Ideals, but it honestly isn't as well-composed as this one (with Clash having been written when I was in high school), and it can be skipped without missing out on much. The events that transpired in Clash of Ideals are summarized within Reflection as the plot demands.
Yes, I am aware $7 is a tad expensive. I'd charge less if I could, but manufacturing costs are a thing. If you're strapped for cash, wait until I get the Kindle/E-book version sorted out (curse you file formatting issues). Either way, you might want to read some of my fanfics beforehand in order to see if you enjoy my writing style, if you haven't already. While I haven't really written anything especially similar to Mektar on Fimfiction yet, Name Rater and MissingNo. are good examples of the general quality you can expect if you give Mektar: Reflection a chance. If you do, please let me know what you think, good or ill. I'll thank you for your support regardless.
