First Original Fiction ever submitted to a publisher · 5:01am Jul 1st, 2016
For the first time, I have submitted a piece of fiction to a publisher in the hopes of them rewarding me with money.
We'll see if they like it.
Write a set of Read It Now reviews
Write a set of Read It Later reviews (3/5 done)
Submit a piece of pony fiction to FIMFiction (5,500 words of ~8,000 done)Submit a piece of original fiction to a publisher
Play at least one video game
Gotta admit, I didn't think that would be the second of my weekly goals that I completed.
Now to get to work on that ponyfic.
You are going to make us ask what it is, aren't you.
Congratulations
Good luck to you, Sir! So far I haven't had much of any success with OF publishing
Good job! I'm always happy to see people make some money off of their creativity.

It was submitted to Sanguine Press in response to their call for a story for a collection based around the idea of no regrets - a character having no regrets, or no regrets about something specific. It also called for the entire cast to be persons of color, though I arguably cheated as there are only two characters, and one of them is an AI.
No one has seen it before because, well, it is an original story - not from a writeoff or anything.
Well, other than Bad Horse, who is totally awesome for having looked it over for me a while ago. I ended up revising it and removing a (totally stupid) plot element, as well as working towards clarifying a few things in the text and trying to make the point a bit more obvious.
Supposedly, I'll get a response back within two months. So here's hoping.
And even if I don't, well, I got something done.
My weekly goals aren't really just goals for this week - they're going to be goals for every week. Though I don't think I'll be publicly ticking them off in blog posts after this week. Probably.
*sniff* They grow up so fast.
As someone who also has recently exposed their soul to inscrutable corporate entities in hopes of financial compensation, I feel you.
Good luck!
I will have:
My thumbs both up and crossed! Or, y'know, whatever the culturally appropriate digit gestures are for this situation....
Mike
Best of luck!
Good luck!
And could you add to that list "tell bookplayer what I want to say on the romance panel?" Because otherwise I'm going to turn it into a lecture on how RariJack shipping is a sign of mental illness and led directly to Donald Trump's nomination.
Remember, if they don't publish it, you can always eat them.
Congrats!
For a moment I thought that was your bucket list. You're really procrastinating on playing a video game.
Congratulations and good luck!

Well, we had the Spike is Worst Pony panel at Everfree Northwest.
But yeah, sure, I'll get on that.
