I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of head canons suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. · 12:58am Aug 19th, 2016
Seriously though I'm really excited.
Seriously though I'm really excited.
I get why some people are mad over The Cart Before the Ponies, but I can't see the hate for 28 Pranks Later. That one's just so fun! Plus, you've got this hierarchy:
The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well; The mane cast teach Rainbow Dash not to wrong others by committing the same wrong and then wronging her the same way.
Good, this one, if a tad predictable. A blend of fine characterisation and solid plotting made the episode more than tolerable. On the other hand, it was a little generic, which rather limits what I can say about it.
My Little Pony, as a fantasy setting, is prone to depicting some of its races as consistently evil, or at least consistently unpleasant. While the griffons and dragons aren't necessarily evil, they are stereotyped with negative traits, and the changelings - one of the most fascinating and enigmatic of the show's races - is distinctly shown as almost exclusively villainous. "The Times They Are a Changeling" is the show's third - and, to date, most successful - attempt to give one of its
Time for my third Blogpost!
I just watched the livestream of the latest episode "The Times They Are a Changeling" (S6E16).
Like already suspected we got new information about Changelings; some fanon had been proved right, while some other had been disproved. I'll try to collect all new facts in the following list after the side-break.
So, Thorax lives in the Crystal Empire now.
The Crystal Empire is filled with love.
Changelings eat love. Ergo, love is food.
When people eat too much food, they put on weight.
Are we all doing the math here?
Yeah, I'm still catching up on Season 6. The subject matter had so much potential. Worst. Episode. Ever. The mother show could get worse than that; I think this is gonna be a long runner and there'll be plenty more chances for them to fuck up. But so far this is deffinetly the worst one. Full cringe all the way through.
On the bright side Security State Shiny is pretty sexy. He can violate my civil rights any time.
Well being a writer of changeling fanfiction I figured a little review/discussion of the new episode would be well, fun to do heh. So here are my thoughts and the like on it. So WARNING: Spoilers are obviously ahead so if you haven't seen the episode yet, ye have been warned.
I've fallen out of the practice of doing 'live commentary' on episodes, but given the nature of this recent one, I felt it was appropriate to record my reactions.
"Starlight, your work in Ponyville isn't going anywhere."
In fact, you're completely useless. You slacking layabout.
Spike attempts to circumvent his own fame, with the most narcissistic tone of voice ever.

Ahem, something stuck in my throat.
Warning: Spoilers from the latest episode, The Times They Are a Changeling, abound. Proceed with caution.
One of the hazards of posting reaction blogs shortly after the episode is that they capture volatile opinions that may mellow over time and rewatching the episode. “28 Pranks Later” is a lot better on the second watch, when you know how long scenes will last when before they seemed interminable. (I’m looking at you, Pernicious Prank Polka.) At leafst, that’s how it felt for me.
Can a Changeling actually change? Let's find out!
As some of you might know, I absolutely love changelings. I also don't plan on making blog posts very often, so when I discovered today that an episode about a changeling in the Crystal Empire is in the works, I went right to it's wiki page and decided to make a post here. I'm interested in seeing not only another changeling episode since A Canterlot Wedding, but also exactly why the changeling is specifically in the Empire. Is he there because it's filled with more love than anywhere else in
EARLY! Okay, okay... got that done. So I made this seconds after the stream/episode ended! But, I finished today. So, yeah now... the thoughts!
To put it basically, I really liked this episode! Spike makes friends with a changeling by the name, Thorax, which is creeping me out... Anyway! So during the stream, some people were all like, making a ship name for Spike and Thorax. They eventually, ended up with Sporax. And I was there half looking at the chat.
So, the last two weeks of the show have been interesting haven't they? I mean we got a prank/zombie episode and then we got a changeling episode. It's a pretty big time for the show with new lessons to learn and all. Or not.
So, I haven't been doing the best at writing new material that doesn't suck, and I've lost two followers this week but I did update a good number of my numerous anthologies over the past three days, some of which had gone over two years since last being updated. Maybe someday I update some of my non-anthology stories too! Heh heh heh (muffled crying)
Collections I've updated since the 18th:
So, this was a episode I've been waiting on for a while, particularly after a spoiler randomly popped up in my feed. I kinda wish this was a movie, so as to allow more time for it to breathe and for things to build up, but I liked this. Well, then, over to my specific thoughts!
