Since "The Iron Horse" is coming up on 20 chapters (well, technically it already has, if you count the short fake-out chapter), I thought I'd post a blog to discuss the contributions of my collaborators. This first one is about my editor, GaPJaxie!

So I'm a few days late with this, but hopefully everyone has already seen the Friendship is Optimal Writing Contest that my good friend GaPJaxie is hosting for this fandom. He approached me with the idea a few weeks back, with the offer to participate as a judge, and there was no way I could refuse. After all,

Once again, the Great and Powerful Jaxie held a flash writing contest, in which the prompt was Technically, not terrible.
He also, in the Discord chat, goaded me into writing something that was eight* chapters long, which is why this thing is what it is.
GaPJaxie is running a writing contest on the writeoff.me website. This is a contest with actual prizes (like, first prize is $200!), and three judges - GaPJaxie, Cold in Gardez, and myself, as the obligatory mean British judge.
Even though I'm American.

“Knock knock!” Twilight Sparkle said at the threshold of Starlight Glimmer’s room. She didn’t actually knock, of course -- the door was already open and she could see Starlight sitting at her desk, leafing through some journal or other from the library’s periodical collection.
“Hey Twilight!” Starlight flipped the journal closed. “What’s up? Need help with something?”
So, at Bronycon I finally met the guy who basically convinced me to turn The Iron Horse into a legit complex story and briefly edited it (and also did a panel with me, but I'll find that video later). We hung out, drank beer, and he sang this song from "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog."
GAPJaxie's The Next Generation writing contest is coming to a close in eleven and a half hours (5 AM Pacific Time/8 AM Eastern Time tommorrow morning). If you're interested in participating, be sure to get your stories in tonight!
I mentioned it some time ago, so I thought I would give a friendly reminder. As of the time of this post, 3 days and 15 hours remain to submit your story to GAPJaxie's "The Next Generation" writing contest. Remember, this is a contest with cash prizes, and I shall be one of the judges, along with Cold in Gardez and GAPJaxie himself.
