Now season 8 is over and done with, I think we can say it wasn't one of the stronger seasons. A handful of great episodes, but only one that really stands up alongside the best of the other seasons. Characters:

Twilight Sparkle: I love her characterization in this story so much it is so incredibly in canon but it somehow makes her more human the way she tries to check on the Milkshakes or tries walking to the bathroom to avoid confrontation and blames everything on herself being weak is wonderfully written. I also love her awkward Adorakble dynamic with shiny.

The chapters as of late seems a bit easier to read for me and I find it delightful. Now does that mean that there aren't tons of thing that makes this story quite the mess still ? Of course not but it seems that it is not as much as an issue... at least as long as I don't see the face of Goldenblood who single-handedly made this story quite the pain to go through.

It was, uh, pretty amazing. I'm actually glad that they didn't go with a super predictable conclusion like I thought they would. I'm not completely sure what to think about the new designs, but they're not an eyesore in my opinion at the very least. At the very least, I'm just glad that this doesn't affect my stories too greatly.

The rest of the season was leaked, it seems. Naturally, I've been watching each of 'em. This is the finale. It has all built up to this, and several pieces of lore are now relevant! Let's see what lies in store.
