It could use second eyes, especially if you know Pathfinder.

I Love Pathfinder · 4:53am Oct 13th, 2017

I'm always a fan of those D&D/tabletop game stories where a completely ridiculous plan actually works. A dragon is threatening to destroy a town? Appease it with cattle, gold, a song done in its honor, and carving the lyrics to said song in a golden slab! Need water to give to a statue, but it's all been taken away by fae magic? Cry into the bowl! (Both of these things actually happened.) Well, after tonight, I now have my own story to tell.

This is a long one. It's about Pathfinder and vengeance and exceedingly aggressive friendship. There will be math and a bit of whining. You've been warned.

Me blethering about Chaos magic + a story · 7:02pm Jul 19th, 2017

I'm a gigantic table top gamer. I have been since I got my first copy of Dungeons and Dragons 3.0. Now I regularly play pathfinder, but I always reach back to play my absolute favorite class; Chaos Mage, courtesy of Mongoose Publishing's splat book: The Quintessential Chaos Mage. The Quintessential series of splat books often had some interesting ideas, but for me the chaos mage was what I really wanted in DnD. A magic user that trades damage for absolute freedom in spell casting, you can

My First Session As A Pathfinder DM · 4:23pm Jun 9th, 2017

So, recently I was the Dungeon Master for a one-shot adventure for Pathfinder called "We Be Goblins", I spent three days preparing for this session, half of my preparations go in the trash. First, one of them got laid by many goblin women despite low charisma. A lot of them tried to kill the chief and his guard but failed miserably. They also managed to convince the chief that they did get the fireworks but their pet toad ate it, the Chief told them to get more. Come to the actual adventure and

Ponyfinder: Baconbits · 12:51am Dec 1st, 2017

So, this coming weekend, I'm going to end up having to convince my DM to let me do the dumbest thing ever. No, it's not playing Glimmer. It might actually be fun. I am going to have to argue that, between the Disney's Robin Hood ripoff (Kitsune Archer) and the Tengu rogue, having a pony in the group won't make it any more silly. It's a bit sad that I'll be using up a lot of my IRL credibility on this. After all, I'm

Oh, and about that Unicorn off to the side there... · 3:28am Dec 30th, 2016

That's Azure Foalklore, unicorn bard and adventurer. She was my character in a variant game of Pathfinder about a year or so back.

Pathfinder is pretty much Dungeons and Dragons (Ogres and Oubliettes for the canon) and a friend found a system rule for Equestrian player races. It didn't last much more than three sessions due to player drop in/drop out, but it was fun being a happy-go-lucky wandering minstrel.

I'm never playing anything but Varisians in Golarion Pathfinder games ever again. · 10:04pm Aug 29th, 2016

That's right. From here on out, Varisians all the way. If I want ability mods, I'll come up with some sort of mixed race idea, but Varisian will definitely be part of it. I even have one already.

Why, you ask?

MLP Afterdark Pathfinder Game Starting · 1:57pm May 21st, 2017

I'm not normally one for social media, blogs, vlogs and all of that other nonsense; call me old fationed but I don't believe I normally have much to contribute. And what I do have to say is too important for 255 character sound bite style tweets. So people that know me, admittedly not to many people on this site do, will know that for me to use anything labeled as "blog," means I am desperate or I have something very important to say.

So let's talk RPG's, specifically Pen and Paper RPG's.

I've been at them for about, ooh, 4-5years started with D'n'D 4th ed, and moved onto Pathfinder, since then that's generally what I've stuck with outside of Traveller, DFRPG, Warhammer 40K, a couple of homebrew systems here and there, and a very short-lived foray into BESM/Pendragon (DM just dropped it due to wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey shenanigans).

Rise Of The Runelords Session 1 — Wherein Two Dwarves Prove Talking Is A Free Action · 9:45pm Nov 17th, 2016

My wife is running a Pathfinder campaign. One of the players, her best friend and the Maid of Honor at our wedding, hasn't been in an RPG for a long time, and was never very deep into the experience in the first place, so I decided to give her a good anchor by playing her character's brother. The third player is a friend and former coworker of mine. We were supposed to have two more (a member of my high school gaming circle and his wife), but they couldn't make it this time.

A weird fantasy story with Rarity that I'll probably never finish, so I’m publishing it in parts as a blog to reduce potential prodding about lack of updates. It's almost a freewrite. No notes. No outlines. Character profiles at most. Heavily inspired by Pathfinder (via Ponyfinder). If thou art curious, find it below.

You know what I feel like when someone introduces a new house rule for a game, doesn't tell me about it, and then penalizes me for breaking a rule I didn't know?

Seriously though, it's not a good thing so today I'm going to talk a little bit about guidelines on house rules.

RPG Tips With Crimson #2: Make the PC's into Villains. · 8:07pm Jun 28th, 2018

In the beginning there was a Game Master, and over the course of seven days he created a perfect world full of intrigue, villains, heroes, and magic. Then on the seventh day he invited Players to come and create Player Characters to act as their avatars in the Game Master's perfect world. Within three hours the once perfect world was destroyed by these supposed heroes going on a murder hobo rampage. To the NPC's of this world, this was the first sign that the end was to come. To the Game
