My old mobil phone i use to write and do anything, literally anything wirth noting is now trash. including all my storys notes i had not saved on fimficton. this throws me back by 1-2 month in all my updates.
worse i never noticed how depended i was on my old phone...
numbers to call, website note for password etc. All lost.
i don't even have basic keybord corrections anymore.
my activity in fimfiction might drop for months.

So FiMFiction made some huge changes to their format recently as you all can tell and I'll be perfectly honest. I don't like them.

I was kind of already annoyed that we have the names of the characters and not their actual character icons like we used to, now the editing process has been modified and on top of that there are two issues that I am concerned with in regards to some of the new tags.

and lunar republic party!
these names can be changed!

Seriously. Most chapters to me are now near-unreadable.

Also, these horizontal rules are a huge story breaker for stories that utilize them heavily.

Something I have wanted to get off my head recently is what I think of the current state of Fimfiction... Fimfiction is a great site, and between the quality coding and veritable infinity of stories contained within, there is no questioning why it is a success.

However, I cannot agree with some of the changes knighty has brought to the site in the recent years. Such as removing the banner, well mostly removing the banner.

Oooooh boy, it's so cathartic to be writing one of these again. Bet you thought it was dead!

Well HAHA! Just when you thought it was down, the horse comes right back up to kick ya in the meester!

This update fixes a few bugs, mainly to do with cookies and banners. Banners have been changed to use localstorage instead, so they should save properly (and permanently) again.

I also fixed some bugs with saving the custom banners.

Honestly I was in a bit of a rush when I made it, having a little obsession with Autumn Blaze at the time, and now I’ve only made like three stories involving her.

I wish fimfiction would clean up the in-progress list.

What do I mean?
Currently, if you go searching in the in-progress stories... you will find allot of dead/hiatus fics that the author never bothered to label as being dead/on hiatus.

What I wish would happen.
* Mark any story where the author hasn't logged onto the website in a year as dead.
* Mark any story where the author hasn't updated in 6 months as hiatus.

Doing this would really help clean up the search results.

So, I’ve learned a few things from doing this the way I did. First and foremost, don’t change POV and tense mid-write. When I began this project, I was working in third person point of view, and present tense. About 40% of the way through it I came upon the idea of the framing device of starting the story right as Twilight resolved the crisis. (hence: “We Begin at the End” and “We End at the Beginning”) However, this necessitated a shift in writing style into first person past tense.
