Since her introduction in season 4, Maud Pie has made at least one appearance in every season, and every single one of those appearances is stronger than the last. By season 6's "The Gift of the Maud Pie," the writers had grown comfortable with subtly suggesting her emotions, and here, they've gone a step further and fleshed out her flaws and anxieties. So saw the premiere of season 7. It's cute and fun, but compared to previous seasons...lackluster. Nothing really happens at all.
Season 1 opening: The backstory of Equestria and nightmare night is given, Twilight and each of the mane six are introduced, Nightmare night/Luna is Introduced and fought, and by the end of the episode the whole basis for the rest of the season and series is established.
This story was introduced to me after reading Hat Man's reviews on other Scribblefest stories, and it immediately piqued my interest for a large number of reasons. The first was some similarities between this and my own entry, as both featured an Earth pony taking to the skies, as well as being more interested in the technical aspects of it, which appealed to my engineering background. I have, in fact, studied aerospace and find it very interesting.
As this is my review for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, you can expect the usual amount of spoilers.
