I know being in the featured box is a big deal, but is it mandatory for people who were in the featured box or popular stories sidebar to put that in the descriptions of their stories? Or is it more of a celebratory thing for the author? I'm just so confused. I see fics that say "Featured: 9 Oct 14" and my only thought is "That was years ago, why should I care?"
