Well, I decided how I am going to do this Halloween story. It is going to be about Scootaloo going deep into the woods at night on Nightmare Night. She might act a bit like she did in "Sleepless in Ponyville", but this a whole different story. I'll give a bit of heads up on the story.
Characters: The Cutie Mark Crusaders (I love their new cutie marks ), an elderly mare (I don't know the name yet), and a huge kitten
It's a little late, but I needed some time to let this sink in. After four and a half seasons, the CMC FINALLY have their cutie marks and I'm... disappointed.
I'm currently making a mod for Crusader Kings II. It's not a real total conversion (I've heard that a whole team has tried / is trying to do that, and they've been at it for years already... so that'd be too much for me); just adding new alicorn-worshipping religions to the Charlemagne starting date, and all the stuff that goes with having new religions (holidays, special events, etc). Also, an artifact system for creating and finding (and losing) magic weapons.
Just a quick announcement before getting into the blog. I'll probably be dedicating the Monday blog post to talking about the last episode. Other updates will be put into another blog later in the week (probably Friday). This'll make things easier for me as I don't have to worry about spoilers.
With that said let's get into this week's episode, check on after the break.
Having re-watched Crusaders of the Lost Mark, what strikes me now (with the benefit of hindsight) isn't what grabbed me the first time. It's not the music, or the symmetry in the storytelling (where the CMC's earn their marks by extending kindness to the very pony whose anti-blank-flank cruelty had brought them together in the first place).
AND WELL, WE HAVE A NEW CHAPTER MADLADS. Well, sort of. It's still a work in progress. Gonna be real short and sweet. if you care to take a peek, lemme know! Be out within a day or two.
It's Saturday, time to watch the new episode of pony! I'll just sit down with my cup of coffee and get ready to watch the episode!

So...that was a hell of a thing. The CMC's finally got their cutie-marks. That just happened. After five years of the show. There's a whole lot to unpack in this 22 minutes of TV, so I'll just give my high level thoughts at the moment.
Some sort of anniversary giveaway, lasting about 24-ish hours more. Vanilla game only, none of the expansions.
Tried to get into Paradox's 'eat your life, OMG' style historical sandboxes a few times, Hearts of Iron mainly, but the slow pace and how there's usually no end-state beyond 'survive until X' has made me bounce off them so far.
(Can really recommend Stellaris, though. One of the more open ended 4X games out there, with a lot of options on just how you shape your empire.)
Now, there's a spirited debate to be had over whether The Last Crusade is better than Raiders of the Lost Ark. I think a lot of it boils down to Sean Connery-- although now that I think about it, the tank chase is probably the best action sequence of the trilogy. (We do not talk about that Crystal Skull flick).
I've been pushing through my writer's block and have consulted my pre-readers to do so. My intent to release the next chapter in November will likely be met, if barely. After that, however, updates should come much more fluidly. Chapters 8 and 9 are being worked on together, and Chapter 10 is partly written already. In all, we're looking at likely 12 chapters, plus a brief epilogue.
