It's Saturday, time to watch the new episode of pony! I'll just sit down with my cup of coffee and get ready to watch the episode!

So...that was a hell of a thing. The CMC's finally got their cutie-marks. That just happened. After five years of the show. There's a whole lot to unpack in this 22 minutes of TV, so I'll just give my high level thoughts at the moment.
-They got their cutie marks! Yay!
-Diamond Tiara's mom. With her overbearing attitude being rather behind DT's attitude, it really does turn Diamond Tiara into Friendship is Magic's version of Pacifica Northwest. And that comparison to a Gravity Falls character will in no way become relevant in a future fic of mine. Not at all.
-In that vien, Diamond Tiara isn't a bitch anymore! Yay!
-Their cutie marks. While I am quite happy to see the CMC's get them, and I'm not opposed to them being a trio mark, I....am not a fan of the designs. They really clash against the designs of the three, Apple Bloom the most.
-Like Magical Mystery Cure, could have standed to be a two parter.
Otherwise though, big episode. And an enjoyable one for me.
Remember the days when many MLP episodes were multi-part? Sometimes even as many as 11 or more? I think I'll go watch those now.
Am I seriously the only one who noticed that this episode proves Princess Celestia just sits in court all day waiting for Spike to send her letters and doing nothing else?
Dude, I love the cutie mark designs. They each convey what each filly brings to the cutie mark/talent finding table, while also showing them as a trio and unifying force. Pretty appropriate, considering the title of the show, imo.
Besides, the magenta isn't that much of a clash. Hell, we'll probably have people a year from now complaining that the CMC look weird without their marks.

I more noticed that it was a shot for shot remake of the opening title sequence for some bits there. Which I can't help but feel was intentional.

I stand by my feelings on the cutie-marks. The pastel colors work on Sweetie Belle, I think. But they really do clash on Apple Bloom and Scootaloo, I think.
