Caramel is hired to work at Sweet apple acres. He remembers Applejack but she doesn't remember him that well. When he confesses his feelings towards Applejack she snaps at him causing the stallion to leave the farm and Ponyvile itself.

Can Applejack correct her mistakes or is it too late?

While helping with a particularly heavy harvest, Caramel is befallen by an accident that temporarily leaves him unable to work. Numerous emotions of guilt and sorrow are brought to the surface, particularly after a somewhat tactless comment from one of Applejack's cousins, and while taking time off to recover from the injury he has sustained, the tan-coated stallion gloomily laments over the misfortunes he has suffered over the years. Luckily for him, Applejack is there to offer her support and remind him that every cloud has a silver lining - as was indeed the case in Caramel's life story...

This story is dedicated to CaramelMLP and DespisedandBeloved of Deviant Art, and to those who lost their lives in the infamous Hyatt Regency disaster in 1981.

The Apple Family will be first to tell you how great of a pony Applejack is. She's hard-working, faithful, strong, and even honest!

...She's also pretty tolerant of other ponies' faults too.

But when Sweet Apple Acres needs some extra help, and a certain forgetful earth pony is assigned to work alongside Applejack, will she lose that tolerance, or will she end up feeling more than just aggravation for this clumsy stallion?

Caramel had always dreaded Hearts and Hooves Day. This year merely reinforced his opinions.
He never seemed to hold onto somepony for long. He had no idea until today that a relationship could be made and broken in one day.
Broken, he returns to Sweet Apple Acres in his habit of saying his goodbyes until next week. Also to once more think on what could most likely never be between him and a certain cowgirl pony.
He had no idea what awaited him once he opened the door.
