March 2021 Update: Featuring Memberships and Far-Future Plans · 5:36pm Apr 3rd, 2021
Let's tackle this in order: an announcement of memberships with commissions possibly coming later all on Buy Me a Coffee (with one reason why I'm doing memberships), the current progress of the stories I'm still working on, and what I've read.
After some deliberation, I've decided that I'll be ambitious and get myself out there membership-wise. You can now pay me $5/$10/$15 monthly on Buy Me a Coffee for some extra stuff ranging from daily posts detailing my writing progress (save on Sundays) all the way to accessing the drafts of the stories I'm currently working on.
Now one reason that led me to this is because I do have lots of story ideas to have in mind, most if not all of these possessing enough material to start building out proper outlines at least. Two things in particular:
- The Starlight Timelines Saga: For each alternate timeline from the Season 5 finale (from the Crystal War to the Ashlands Timeline), there would at least be one medium-length/long story fleshing out the world of each timeline and/or following someone in said timeline.
- The Sarum-esque History of Equestria: Sarum is an Edward Rutherfurd story I've read before that details the history of a town and the bloodlines that have their lives intertwined in said town over thousands of years. In that vein, I want to make a series of short or medium-length stories detailing Equestria in such a similar encompassing vista, from primitive ponies all the way to present-day Equestria.
This would take a long time to pull off, however, and while I would try my best by God's grace to do this without memberships anyway, it would at least be a boon if there were a few members going along for this ride that is my passion project.
As for commissions, I'm currently testing it out with someone else commissioning me at a set price for a story and seeing how we'll price the final commission rates. I will rarely be open for commissions since I do want to focus more on the stories I want to write from the very beginning, but I also want to give it a shot to bring my writing to new shores and to also collaborate with and learn from other people.
In the end, the only thing I can say is that I will let God steer where this shall go, and I will hope for the best.
As for story progress, I've made strides in the Crystal War story's first editing pass, though after a while, I've stopped around 6/10th's through the story to work on a quick Ponies on Earth story: Buko Pie.
After this, I'll be working on that test commission story. So, yes, while there's been much work done, there's not much to be said about said work, at least not yet.
I've finished the harrowing Dostoevsky doorstopper that is The Brothers Karamazov, the philosophical/religious novel that hits rather hard and the effects of one's religious view on how one would live and act.
After that, I've picked up a couple fan fics before moving on to the next long story to read. This includes The Masterpiece—
—two short stories from Casketbase77—
—and several short Ponies-on-Earth stories to round out the preliminary stages of writing Buko Pie—
And this is where I stand for now. I hope that you have a good day by the grace of God!
