    Author update!

I'm editing stuff! But also incredibly dried out of writing power atm. I'll get going again soon, but just bear with me for a bit. I'm publishing a chapter of XCOM today, then start on the daily writing (not publishing) again tomorrow morning. In the meantime, always remember:

    Remembering Koji Wada

Like every year, I like to remember the man/legend responsible for the theme songs of one of my favorite shows of all time on the anniversary of his death.

So if you were wondering about the timing for the latest Isekai chapters? There you go.

    Welp, here's a life update

These last couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Good things have happened, and also bad ones. No wonder I could relate to both Furina and Navia in the latest Isekai chapter. Sometimes pretending things are fine is really exhausting, even if they do get better.

    Welp, another year older and...

...still writing ponies. (Among other things, granted.)

Update to the Isekai coming tonight! And some additional details and change of plans.

First, to everyone waiting patiently for the next Isekai chapter, I apologize for the delay. I know there are a lot of people that want to see another visit to Hell happen soon, and it will, I promise. However, due to some circumstances, I decided for a different pair of visitors to visit the bar this week.

Sunset's Isekai 1yr Anniversary! · 4:01am Jun 21st, 2020

*Art by Dalorance

Hello everyone, and thank you for sticking with me for a year of Sunset's Isekai chapters!

I'm very happy so far with the success of the story, as well as the fact that it has helped me reconnect (and connect) my different interests and MLP. It came at a time where I was really beginning to burn out, and now I feel it's one of those stories that can keep on going for… well, however long I want! I already have an ending written, just in case.

There are endless series of games, anime, cartoons, fics, movies, books, ect. that I can go back to, explore, and share with you!

And of course, there's our beloved MLP:FIM, which I have definitely not forgotten, nor have I forgotten Fimfics either. I'm trying to figure out a good balance, especially since I intend to return to writing and finishing my other fics as well, but I did want to fight off that looming burnout. I needed a way to take a rest without quitting and losing my writing momentum, but without limiting myself either.

So many of us need a break and a good discussion, after all, and what better place to have it than at Sunset's Isekai?

Think about it guys. I've been here since the site opened, and a bit before in EqD. Many other authors left and even some are returning. I never went away, and I never stopped writing fimfic. As much as I love it, and because I love having fun here, I need to not limit myself to it, or a couple of years from now I'll be coming back and expecting "old guard of the golden age status" to somehow validate my sudden decision to drop out and come back.

I'd rather do things in moderation… work on the things I love to bring to you, fulfill the things I started, and hopefully bring all my followers a bit more than they expected with surprise guests, interesting insights, ect.

And that's what Sunset's Isekai has done for me. It has kept me alive here, and it has brought back that sense of wonder and "what if" from the multiverse of multiverses out there. It's given me the chance once more to work with authors, not only here in fimfic, but beyond, and a chance to explore things without the need for long sagas, focusing on what makes each world unique: the characters.

Once again stories that I read become part of something I'd love to participate in, and sometimes I can even send you guys into little vacations with other series. Once again I can just have talks with characters that have touched me in some way or another, characters that bridge worlds, political disagreements, and the mundane… and I get to share those moments in time with you.

So, to celebrate Sunset's Isekai's 1 year anniversary, I've decided to change the cover art to the one above once it's shadowed and finished by the artist (the original will be linked and I'll edit the very first crossover to have it within at the very beginning), and also, how would you like to  celebrate it with me?

The best way I could think of?

Sunset's Isekai very own, 1st year anniversary enamel pin!

I was going to take them to a couple of conventions, but unfortunately circumstances changed things and I'm still stuck at home, but I thought it would be a great way to have something physical from the Isekai, support your friendly neighborhood mod/author, and be ready with merch for whenever the door appears for you. (I hear Sunset gives discounts if you have one on)

It's a limited number of pins, but if you want to own your own, I'm selling each at $4 plus shipping, which I intend to be USPS unless you request otherwise. They're relatively weightless, so I don't expect shipping to be as high as say, the books!

If you're interested in one, send me a PM with your location (country/state not your physical address) and I can calculate the final prize for you to see before we agree to anything.

I am additionally considering how to organize polls for both patrons and readers to help decide Isekai's visits in a way that doesn't really disrupt a varied group of visitors, as well as maybe opening to suggestions with a few caveats to keep fics reasonable, so give me a few weeks to iron out that process properly and I'll make an announcement.

In the meantime, the pins are a great way to contribute to Isekai, myself, and science! I intend for Isekai to go far… and as long as people are interested in stories, there's always going to be a place for the Isekai.

So thanks again for a whole year of commenting, reading and looking forward to Isekai chapters!

Here's to you, readers and supporters, to Sunset, her Isekai bar, and to all guests, past and future!

Congratulations on such an incredible year! I'm delighted to have been a part of it twice!!!! I hope you're really proud of yourself, cuz I'm sure as heck proud of you

Sweet, I found this story in my recommendations and decided to check it out, and I have not been disappointed! Congratulations on the one year anniversary!

Wow, it's really been a year? What a blast. I can't wait for more and the future of these stories and this site. I would love to buy one of those pins. And maybe other merch when they come out. With great love and appreciation.

I've only found Sunset's Isekai recently, but it's been a blast to read through. I'm looking forward to the future series' our favorite unicorn-turned-human will interact with next. Also, gratz on the one year anniversary! I'll definitely be hitting you up for one of those pins.

Can hardly believe it's been a year since you started this... really doesn't feel like it.

Glad I've been following along. Here's to another year more

Congratulations on one year. It's been a great ride so far, and here's to many more visitors to my favorite bar, just ahead of Cheers.

Oh, my, already? Congratulations!

Glad the story's been working so well for you. :)
I've enjoyed it!

Thanks for writing! :)

Merry Isekaimas! Wonderful to hear you've been enjoying the story so much, and that it's kept you engaged with the community even as it helps you maintain a balance with your other fandoms. And those are very nice pins...

I can barely believe it has been a year since this ride started.
I'm extremely happy, and I hope there will be more.
Here's to Sunset, the bar, and all of our esteemed guests, past, present, and future.
downs a shot

It was amazing to be working with you! May there be more isekais, and possibly more collabs!

Goddamn, it's been a year already?

Isakei Crossover wishlist: (in no particular order)
You'll have to get in contact with these people first of course.

There's more but I don't want to spend all day going through my comic lists

5290219 I'll let readers know if/when I start taking suggestions. As I said in the blog, I'd have to figure out exactly how to handle it, and it would come with some caveats. Until then, it's probably best not to start throwing stories and comics my way. :twilightsheepish:

5290224
I saw an opportunity and I took it!

Aw heck yea, an Isekai pin! I want it!

PS: Sunset can expect some ponies to drop in for a cutie mark party :raritywink:

Are there any pins left?

Just checking because I sent a PM about them 2 days ago and haven't recieved a response yet.

5292576 there's still pins, don't worry, I've just been really busy since Sunday, I'll send the rate and such in the next few days.

5292956
No worries then. Just wanted to double check.

Interested in a pin, and could've sworn i DM'd you back on Sat or Sun, at least i meant to.

Multiverse shenanigans with multiple Spocks!

5290224 Okay, cool.
I've got a few ideas that I want to toss your way if/when you do, D.

Also, how much is a pin, and how do I get one of my own?

Wanderer D

5296091 the pin is $4, the only issue to solve atm is pricing for shipping, that's all.

5296097 Okay, thanks.
And yeah, that can be a booger at times.

On another note, looking forward to the next chapter of Isekai.
Oh, and many congrats on its first anniversary, D!

*slides in to an empty room firing party poppers* Happy Isekai anniversary!

I'm not a week late, I'm just over a year too early!
